Hello Parents!
Thank you to ALL the parents who were able to assist with our very successful and heartwarming field trip to the Veteran’s Hospital. So many touching moments—many smiles both from your children and our veterans, a few tears, too! Quite an experience!!!!!!
Just a few reminders for upcoming events:
Wednesday, May 15th: Late Start
Friday, May 17th: Detroit Science Center—all day—Both children and chaperones will need a bag lunch and drink. I recommend that children’s lunches be placed in a plastic bag—many paper bags tore on last Friday’s field trip. Also, please label your child’s bag with their name. Thank you!
Wednesday, May 22nd: Spring Concert, 6:00 p.m.
Friday, May 24th and May 27th : No school
Now onto our classroom schedule:
Spelling: (schwa a, which sounds like a short “u” /uh) Our words are: idea, again, agree, above, banana, ago, alike, balloon, away, and alone. Bonus words are: along, about. Our sentence is: Long ago the banana agreed with the balloon’s idea to go above the clouds.
Reading: Reading and acting out short plays
Math: Completion of Module 6—assessment on Wednesday.
Writing: Personal Narrative
Science: Plants and ecosystems
