Hello There!
Looks like we’re in for another week of April showers! I’m hoping they will cease in time for our field trip this Thursday afternoon. Please consider having your child bring or wear boots on field trip day—the conditions may be muddy. If you were able to sign up as a chaperone/driver, we will see you at school by 12:25, so I can assign your little passengers. We may still need one more driver—if you may be able to assist with this, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you for sharing your time with us.
Our week in the Hive:
Spelling: (Homophones—words that sound alike, but have different spellings and meanings): threw, through, write, right, bored, board, wear, where, whole, and hole. Bonus words are: there, their and they’re. Our sentence is, The children were bored as they went through the right door wearing blue.
Reading: Non-fiction — main ideas and supporting details. Also, paying attention to new vocabulary.
Writing: April is National Poetry Month, so we will be exploring forms of poetry.
Math: We are at the end of Module 5, so we will have our end of the module assessment on Wednesday. A review will come home on Tuesday.
Social Studies: Economics
Reminders:
No school this Friday, April 19th. School resumes on Monday, April 22nd.
Spring Concert: May 22nd at 6:00
For those families celebrating Easter—Happy Easter and for all families enjoy your long weekend!!!!
Fondly,
Mrs. Burke
