Fourth and fifth graders are completing an engineering challenge. They have to make a silly straw holder that meets the constraints and criteria. Here are a few successful ones.

The students are learning about needs and wants. One need is water. This week they are exploring the properties of water-and having a lot of fun!

The second graders are learning about 2d and 3d shapes in math. We were engineers this week and built 2d and 3d shapes with toothpicks and playdough.

The first graders are testing materials to see if they are opaque, transparent, or translucent.

The kindergartners watched a Mystery Science video and now have to knock down a wall of cups but not knock down the houses. They had to drop the wrecking ball just right.

The third graders have begun a project to help a farmer protect their crops from hail. This week they tested the shape of roofs to see which allowed the most hail(salt) to fall off and was the sturdiest.

Fourth graders are learning about energy waves. This week we are studying light. They need to accomplish a variety of tasks using a flashlight and mirrors.

Fifth graders are finishing their space landers. The had to create a lander that could hold in the 2 aliens (marshmallows) when dropped from 1ft and 2ft.

The kindergarteners showed their knowledge of 2d and 3d shapes by creating shapes out of toothpicks and dough.
