The fourth graders were challenged to create a flashlight using a battery, led bulb and foil. Only a few students were able to accomplish it without help but everone learned as they tried.
The fourth graders were challenged to make safe stopping robots. They were given the materials and had to make a robot that would shake and move when on the foil but stop when it left the safe area. It was a hard challenge.
Last week the first graders listened to the story of the Three Little Pigs. The wolf uses air to blow down the pigs houses. The first graders were challenged to build a house the wolf (hair dryer) could not blow down.
First graders showed how air works in slowing down parachutes. The created their parachutes and then we tested them by dropping them from the top of the steps.
This week the second graders continues learning about rocks by learning about the property of weight. The used a balance and gram pieces to get the mass of a rock.
