The second graders are learning about flooding. They tested materials and then created a barrier to protect a house from flooding.
The second graders need to build a barrier that will prevent a house from flooding. this week we learned about flooding and tested materials to see which ones absorbed the most water. They had to test and measure water amounts.
The third graders used Hot Wheels to design an investigation and graph the results. Previously, we all did the same investigation. This week they had to change only one variable- height, type of car, time instead of distance. etc.
This week the second graders listened to the story Creepy Carrots. They then had to create a fence that would hold creepy pumpkins.
The first graders were learning about air. They had to create a house that the big bad wolf could not blow down.
The kinders are creating a gate that will hold at least 5 pumpkins.
The third graders are learning about force and motion. They tested how the slope of the hot wheel track affected the distance the car traveled.
The second graders enjoyed exploring rocks with a magnifying glass to begin their unit on land and how it changes.
The Kinders and first graders are using science tools to begin the school year.
