Kindergartners are learning about push and pulls. This week they are using a straw to push a paper clip and a block across the table. The are learning some things need more force than others to move.
1St graders are learning about sounds. This week we are making loud and soft sounds. They are also sorting pictures of sounds based on loud or soft.
Second graders are finally creating mats that can hold water, do not leak, and do not slide. We have learned about the properties of waters and the materials in the mat. They have to create the best mat using what they have learned.
Third graders are mixing materials together and measuring the mass. They learn that the mass of the 2 individual materials is equal to the mass of the mixture.
Fourth graders are learning about potential energy stored in roller coaster hills. Next week we will experiment with hills and plan the perfect bumper car coaster.
Fifth graders are working with salt solutions. They are measuring the mass of the mixture, looking at salt after the water dissolves, and finding the sturation point of salt water.
