This week we had our final test on The Giver.  In addition, reading logs are due Friday, October 17th!  Make sure the log is complete & a parent has signed off on it.

Thursday, October 2nd

From Tues – Fri next week we will complete reading The Giver.  We will continue working on our “Giver Booklet in class & expanding vocabulary from the text.  *We will take our final test – most likely on Friday, Oct 10th.

Please log daily reading & have your parents sign off & check it.

Note:  All missing or late work must be completed by Wednesday, October 8th if it is to be considered for the 1st report card!

September 29 – October 2, 2014

This week we will continue reading Chapters 10-14, The Giver.  We will have a quiz on Thursday.

Students will continue to complete & use their Giver “booklet” & use it on the Quiz Thursday.

New daily reading logs were given on Friday – please continue to check & sign off on daily reading 🙂

Make sure your child has their daily reading log completed & ready to turn in Thursday or Friday!

Parents should be signing off & monitoring daily reading.

This week marks the 3rd week of Card Marking 1.  If a student is missing work or would like to make up any work, they may receive a progress report next week.  This card marking ends on October 10th, when grades are due.

Also~our Language Arts classes will be returning and checking out library books on Monday, September 22nd.  Please continue to log & sign off on reading each night.

In the next day we will begin reading the novel, The Giver.

September 2-5, 2014

Welcome back to school!  Mrs. Smith & I will be teaching English Language Arts in 7th grade this year.  Your student will be coming home with a Parent Letter & a new Daily Reading Log.  Please take a moment to read both & talk with your child about a time to read each day.

Planners are also being passed out today.  Make sure the planner is coming home each night.

June 2 – 14, 2014

In our final 2 weeks we will work on listening to reading & working on critical writing.

If there is any missing or late work, please have your child turn it in by June 10th.  Each student with missing assignments was given a pass to come in & complete their work.

Final SRI level reading results were sent home.
