Students recently took the reading assessment, SRI. Each student knows their score. We will assess the students again later in the year. Keep in mind that all readers can improve their score by reading more!!! The following scores translate into a grade level equivalent:
SRI Score = Grade Level
100-299 = 1
300-499 = 2
500-599 = 3
600-699= 4
700-799 = 5
800-849 = 6
850-899 = 7
900-999 = 8
1000-1024 = 9
1025-1049 = 10
1050-1300 = 11
This week we continue to work on Daily 5 & CAFE strategies. Please make sure you are reading 20 minutes each day at home, log it on your reading sheet. The log will be collected each month. This month the reading log is due on September 30th. Parents need to sign off on each day of reading. In writing we will continue work on our personal narratives.
