Fifth grade students practiced drawing from direct observation by looking at a pumpkin and drawing details they noticed.  They traced over their drawings with glue and outlined with marker to make the pumpkins stand out.  Students created a background for their pumpkins by making texture rubbings and adding color with tissue paper and water.
