Curriculum areas

This is what we will be studying and learning about this week.

ELA
Students continue to share their interests, establish goals and build relationships with other students and teachers. Weekly conferring with students begins with discussion of goals, interests and projects. During daily Readers and Writers Workshop, students engage in Language, Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. Readers experience Phonemic awareness and Phonics activities through literature while building comprehension. Building stamina and independence continues. TLW read and analyze informational text using science and social studies topics. TLW use the writing process to construct informational writing.

MATH
In this unit, children will work on addition and subtractions of whole numbers, with special emphasis on the basic facts and their extensions; solutions strategies for addition and subtraction number stories; and addition and subtraction computation with multi-digit numbers.

Social Studies
