Focus for the week of January 29, 2018

Our second grade students will be working on:

Reading:   Students will learn how to  use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot.
They will learn to describe the connection between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text.

Writing:   Students will use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot. They will describe the connection between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text.

Math:  Students will learn to recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a gibe number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.

Science:  Students will plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of liquids by their observable properties.

Social Studies:  Students will be learning to understand the difference between a need and a want and will list items that are a need or want.
