This week our second grade students will be working on:
Reading: Students will explain how specific images (e.g., a diagram showing how a machine works) contribute to and clarify a text.
Math: Students will Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.” They will add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
Writing: Students will work on informational writing. They will work on editing, revising and publishing.
Science: Students will learn about plants and insects. We will be investigating and discussing these topics.
Social Studies: Students will learn about resources to help us understand about the past. They will be looking at an artifac
t and other information to learn and understand about the past.
