Happy Thursday!

Thank you to Ms. Jacobs’ class for inviting me to your video chat this morning. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces! We miss you all very much!

During the chat a few parents requested writing topics so below I am going to provide some topics and tips when writing with your child!

First off, it is easier for our children to write about something they have done.

Think about a time when…

You went to a party

Went on vacation

Felt Happy, Surprised, Sad, Scared etc.

Played with a friend or family member

What you did yesterday

Also students can tell all about something they know or like:

Their favorite food, toy, movie, animal, game, app and explain why etc.

I hope this helps! Remember at school we have been practicing stretching out words. Encourage your child to listen and write down the sounds they hear in the words. We do not expect perfect spelling. If your student knows and uses resources around them like a book to spell words this is okay! Also, have them draw a picture first of what they want to write and then they can write!
