Monday -Half Day – Start of Second Semester

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems (CTOS).

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).
L.OL.07.22  Explain how cells make up different body tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Language Objective
Students will create a model to demonstrate the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems.

With the shortened schedule we did not have a lot of time.  Students continued to work in their groups on their CTOS projects.

HOMEWORK – None

Thursday – Half Day – Half Way…

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems (CTOS).

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).
L.OL.07.22  Explain how cells make up different body tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Language Objective
Students will create a model to demonstrate the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems.

Students continued to work in their cooperative learning groups to complete their CTOS projects by jouning their triangles to make a symbolic organism.

Today marks the half way point in the school year and the end of the 3rd marking period.

HOMEWORK – None

Wednesday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems by creating a visual (CTOS) model.

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).
L.OL.07.22  Explain how cells make up different body tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Language Objective
Students will write to describe the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems using the following sentence stems:

“A group of similar cells working together make up a(an) ____________”

“A group of  different tissues working together make up a(an) __________”

“A group of different organs working together make up a(an) ___________”

“A group of different systems working together make up a(an) __________”

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).
L.OL.07.22  Explain how cells make up different body tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Language Objective
Students will create a model to demonstrate the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems.

Friday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems by creating a visual (CTOS) model.

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).
L.OL.07.22  Explain how cells make up different body tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Language Objective
Students will orally describe the relationships between cells, tissues, organs and organ systems using the following sentence stems:

“A group of similar cells working together make up a(an) ____________”

“A group of  different tissues working together make up a(an) __________”

“A group of different organs working together make up a(an) ___________”

HOMEWORK – None. Enjoy the three day weekend and MLK Day.

Thursday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the cell theory.

L.OL.07.21 Recognize that all organisms are composed of cells (single cells organisms, multi-cellular organisms).

Language Objective
Students will write to describe the three parts of the Cell Theory by using their notebooks and textbooks while reading and annotating pages 4-6 in the cells book.

HOMEWORK – None

Tuesday

Test Day in the computer lab.

Waves Unit Test & Cells Pre-Test

HOMEWORK – Prepare for the open note Electromagnetic Spectrum Quiz

Monday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of white light and how it fits into the electromagnetic spectrum.

P.EN.07.31 Identify examples of waves, including sound waves and waves on water.

Language Objective
Students will write to complete a graphic organizer about the electromagnetic spectrum that they will later use during an open note quiz.

Today is the last day to finish working on the electromagnetic spectrum graphic organizer.  Students will be allowed to use this organizer on an upcoming quiz.

HOMEWORK – Study for the Waves test.

Friday – Test Postponed

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate comprehension of the types of light on the electromagnetic spectrum.

P.EN.07.31 Identify examples of waves, including sound waves and waves on water.

Language Objective
Students will be able to orally present  characteristics of the different types of light to the class while using their graphic organizer as a guide.

With the snow day yesterday I have decided to postpone the waves test until next week Tuesday.  Students should continue to study a little bit each day.  In class we watched a video series created by NASA about the electromagnetic spectrum.  It can be found on the iLearn site if yoou missed any of it.
