Monday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of how humans have impacted the environment by doing research.

E.ES.07.41 Explain how human activities (surface mining, deforestation, overpopulation, construction and urban development, farming, dams, landfills, and restoring natural areas) change the surface of the Earth and affect the survival of organisms.

E.ES.07.42 Describe the origins of pollution in the atmosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere, (car exhaust, industrial emissions, acid rain, and natural sources), and how pollution impacts habitats, climatic change, threatens or endangers species.

Language Objective
Students will read and write (type) to complete a Google Docs. assignment while researching on the internet.

HOMEWORK – If your group agrees that you need to spend some time at home on the project and the work is divided evenly.

IN CLASS – Test = Weather and Climate

HOMEWORK – None

Tuesday

Jeopardy Game to review for Weather and Climate Test

HOMEWORK – Study for Weather Test (Study Guide can be found on the iLearn site).

Thursday

Content Objective
Students will reflect upon the learning that they have done over the past school year and complete a Google Docs assignment that guides them through the process.

Language Objective
Students will write/type and collaborate to complete a Google Docs assignment to shows the content objectives and lessons they have worked on during this school year.

HOMEWORK – Complete and submit the Reflection Activity, Forecasting Weather Assignment and Watersheds Diagram.

STUDY – Cells Test Wednesday (June 1st)

Wednesday

Content Objective
Students will demonstrate knowledge of watersheds and which ones we live in by completing a diagram while using a video clip, teacher explanation, and their text book.
E.ES.07.11 Demonstrate, using a model or drawing, the relationship between the warming by the sun of the Earth and the water cycle as it applies to the atmosphere and oceans.

E.ES.07.81 Explain the water cycle and describe how evaporation, transpiration, condensation, cloud formation, precipitation, infiltration, surface runoff, ground water, and absorption occur within the cycle.

E.ES.07.82 Analyze the flow of water between the components of a watershed, including surface features (lakes, streams, rivers, wetlands) and groundwater.

Language Objective
Students will write and draw to describe the parts of the watershed and which ones we live in by completing a map with a key.

HOMEWORK – Finish Watersheds Map & Key
