Today we continued to work on reading, underlining key words and color coding the Metric Measurement article.  The students also made sure that they had the “Student Info” assignment uploaded into Google Classroom.

HOMEWORK – 1. Bring headphones/ear buds each day from now on.

Students will demonstrate knowledge of how to write Cornell Notes by working in their Cooperative Learning Groups to determine the main points of an article and write them in the proper Cornell Notes format.

Students will read, discuss and write to determine the main points of an article and write them in the proper Cornell Notes format.

HOMEWORK – Hours – 1,4 and 5 Finish Cornell Notes if you did not finish in class.  Hours – 5 & 6 No Homework (we will finish in class tomorrow)

Students will demonstrate evaluation of how to write procedures for scientific investigations by peer editing their Cooperative Learning Group partners first draft of their procedures of How to Balance 10 Nails on 1 then write a final draft for homework.

Language Objective
Students will read, discuss and write to peer edit their Cooperative Learning Group partners first draft of their procedures of How to Balance Ten Nails on One.

HOMEWORK – Write a final draft of “How to Balance Ten Nails on the Head of One”.

Students will demonstrate knowledge of how to write procedures for scientific investigations by reading and annotating an article.
S.IP.07.14 Design and conduct scientific investigations.

Language Objective
Students will read and write to annotate an article working alone and in small groups and prepare for taking Cornell Notes on the article.

In class the students read and annotated an article about writing procedures.  After that they each balanced ten nails on the head of one.  They then began writing a procedure about how to balance ten nails on the head of one.

HOMEWORK – Write a procedure for balancing ten nails on the head of one. (First Draft)
