This month our main focus will be on multiplication and division. We will continue to work with fractions through cooking. Donations of gift cards to local grocery stores would be greatly appreciated but not necessary. I will send receipts home with what was purchased.

Welcome Back
Hello! Welcome back to school. My name is Mrs. Blamer and I am in room 3 this year. I am very excited about this school year and hope that you are too! I hope you have enjoyed your summer, I sure enjoyed mine. This year I will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade READ 180 and a 7th/8th grade math and language arts class. I will update my classroom blog with important info, links to helpful resources, current topics and photos of learning in progress. I truly believe that the key to success is open communication between families, students and myself. Please if at any time you would like to chat (concerns or exciting news) feel free to call me at 313-827-8649 or email me at blamerk@dearbornschools.org
A little bit about me. This is my 9th year as a teacher, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2006 and am currently working on my master’s degree at Wayne State University. I am married to Kevin and have two amazing little girls, Courtney 3 and Kaitlin 1. In addition to my human family I have two fur babies Mya and Riley, Mya is my good dog and Riley, well let’s just say you can compare him to Marley from Marley and Me! During the summer I love spending time up north at Higgins Lake with family and friends. Some of my other favorite hobbies include visiting the Detroit Zoo, riding my bike with the girls in tow, snowboarding, BBQs, playing outside with my munchkins and Bonfires with s’mores!
As far as school supplies the only thing our class is in need of at this time is dry erase markers and for my 7th/8th grade math class, gift cards to grocery stores to supply our cooking lessons. All of the READ 180 materials will LIVE in the classroom. As for the 7th/8th grade math and language arts class a folder to keep papers, notes and projects in would be helpful. If you are not able to donate at this time no worries, I will ensure every student has those supplies. As the year goes on I may send letters home and post on our blog items we are in need of, if you are able to send them in that would be great but by no means feel it to be necessary.
