Permission slips should have come home. Please review the menu with your child and send in the money and permission slip by Monday.

I hope to take the class out for a walking field trip a few more times this year. We will be focusing on manners and money skills.

If the cost is a concern for these trips please contact me and we can work something out.

Mar 14th Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held tomorrow from 4:30-7:30.

Mar 10th Enrichment

We are still in need of old clothes, hangers and socks.

These items will help us with our laundry skills.

Mar 10th College Expo

8th graders will be attending a College Expo on March 21st.

Please make sure permission slips are turned in.

Feb 23rd PSAT Tomorrow

8th grade will be taking the PSAT tomorrow. Please make sure you get a good nights sleep and eat breakfast.

Feb 22nd Smith Gear

Just a reminder that Smith gear is available for purchase.

Feb 10th READ 180 Reminders

Please encourage your child to read at home.

They can access the eREADS from any computer and most smartphones.

Ask them how many words they have read and where they are on our words read wall. They should have at least 5000 if they have been in the class since September.

Talk to them about what their SRI score was and what their personal goal is by June.

SMITH PBIS FUNDRAISER AT POTBELLY’S

The PBIS team is hosting a fundraiser at Potbelly’s, on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 3-8 pm. 25% of ALL sales during that time frame will be given directly to our school! Students and families do not have to bring a flyer or even mention that they are there for O.L. Smith. All students who attend the event will have an opportunity to win a gift card, and other prizes, that will be raffled off the following week at school.

Please save the date! Stop in for dinner, or grab sandwiches to go! The more we can get the word out there, the more success we will have for our school.

Reminders and more information will be provided as we get closer to February 19, but just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time : )
