Thursday, May 11

Today in class the 8th graders worked on creating tables and graphs for their science fair data and then on their comic book project.  Homework is to continue collecting data or working on your comic strip project. The quiz scheduled for today is moved to Tuesday.

Today in class the 6th graders reviewed calculating unit rates in, “Rates Applications Bookwork”. There will be a quiz Tuesday on unit rates and ratios. Tonight’s IXL is 6.S.7.

Wednesday, May 10

Today in class the 8th graders practiced finding a vertex and axis of symmetry in standard form for tomorrow’s quiz.  They also practiced locating a vertex using vertex form in “Vertex Form #1”. Please finish what you need at home.

Tomorrow’s Algebra quiz will contain:

  1. Factoring quadratic functions into two binomials
  2. Factoring functions using the GCF
  3. Multiplying binomials
  4. Calculating the axis of symmetry and the vertex of a standard form quadratic
  5. Choosing the widest/skinniest graph based on the quadratic equation

Today in class the 6th graders learned how to use the percent proportion. Classwork is called, “Percent Application” in google classroom. Tonight’s IXL is 6.R.10 on proportions.

Tuesday, May 9

Today in class the 8th graders learned how to graph quadratic functions in vertex form. Classwork was “Notes 4.16” worksheet. Tonight’s homework is to either work on you comic book, which is due May 17, or your science fair data which is due Monday, May 15.

Today in class the 6th graders continued their notes on percents.  Today’s IXL are 6.S.2 and 6.S.4. Students should be collecting data for their science experiment at home.

Monday, May 8

Today in class the 8th graders worked on part 1 of the study guide for the final exam. We will check this tomorrow. Homework is IXL A.Z.3

Today in class the 6th graders choose their elective for next year, and watched a video on percents. Homework is IXL 6.S.1.

Friday, May 5

Today in class, the 8th graders factored quadratic equations and then worked on their slideshow on graphing functions. Your slide show is due Monday!

Today in class the 6th graders calculated rates and have two IXLs about reading and creating line graphs. Your only homework is to finish the IXL if necessary.

May 4, 2017

Today in class the 8th graders found vertices and axes of symmetry on parabolas. They also had 45 minutes to work on their slide show that is due Monday. Homework is to complete 1 more slide of your slideshow that is due Monday.

Today in class the 6th graders (5th hour only) calculated unit rates and began their IXL on line graphs, 6.GG.15 & 7.K.7. Please finish these at home.

May 3rd, 2017

Today the 8th graders worked on their vocabulary slideshows (which will be due Monday) and their comic strip project. No homework unless you have missing IXLs!

Today the 6th graders took the Math MSTEP, no homework unless you have missing IXL.

All late work is due by 3:00 today, and all late IXL are due Friday!

May 2, 2017

Today the 8th graders worked on their vocabulary slideshows (which will be due Monday) and their comic strip project. No homework unless you have missing work.

Today the 6th graders took the ELA MSTEP, no homework unless you have missing work.

All late work is due tomorrow, and all late IXL are due Friday!

Monday, May 1

Today in class the 8th graders began a slideshow to describe features of different types of graphs. This is NOT homework, we will continue to work on this in class tomorrow.  Homework is to make sure Friday’s IXL A.BB.1 and A.BB.2 are complete.

Today in class the 6th graders practiced creating and analyzing box & whisker plots. Classwork is “Box & Whisker Plot Bookwork”, and homework is IXL 6.GG.19.

Friday, April 28

Today in class the 8th graders graphed quadratics functions and located the vertex of the parabola. Please finish IXL A.BB.1 and A.BB.2 over the weekend.

Today in class the 6th graders practiced the performance task for the MSTEP. Today’s classwork is called, “Test Scores”, in google classroom. For homework, please complete any missing work or IXL.

*All late work is due Wednesday. All late IXL are due Friday!
