Monday, May 22

Today in class the 8th graders used all three quadratic forms to locate zeros and vertices. Classwork was called, “Pizza Problem” and “Quadratic Forms”. Please finish the Study Guide Pt. 3 by tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders learned about tax, tip, commission, and discount. Classwork is called, “Tax & Tip Bookwork”.  Tonight’s IXL is 6.V.1 about discounts.

Friday, May 19

Today in class the 8th graders practiced using the quadratic  formula to find zeros. Homework is called, Vertex Form Practice #3 in google classroom.

Today in class the 6th graders practiced making conversions in the metric and customary system. Finish any classwork, Conversion Bookwork,  at home if necessary.

Thursday, May 18

Today in class the 8th graders learned the quadratic formula. Tonight’s IXL is A.BB.5.

Today in class the 6th graders learned about conversion of units.  Please complete “Metric Conversions Practice” in google classroom.

For homework, everyone should be working on their science fair project parts:  Data, Abstract, Research Section. etc.

Retake Announcements

In order to take next week’s retake on the Quadratics Quiz (8th grade) and Ratios/Rates Assessment (6th grade), all missing work must be submitted, including science fair data!

Retakes will be offered next Wednesday, May 24 at 7:15 am, or Thursday, May 25 at 3pm.

Algebra 1 Final Exam

I will be posting the answer keys to Study Guides Pt 1& 2 on Friday night.

If you do not turn in the study guides by Friday at 3pm, it will not be accepted late.

The final exam is two parts on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2.

In order to take next week’s retake on the Quadratics Quiz, all missing work must be submitted.

Retakes will be offered next Wednesday, May 24 at 7:15 am, or Thursday, May 25 at 3pm.

Wednesday, May 17

Today in class the 8th graders worked on solving quadratic equations for x intercepts. Tonight’s IXL is A.BB.6

Today in class the 6th graders solved proportions. Tonight’s IXL are 6.R.11 and 6.S.9.

IXL was begun in class and only needs to be finished up at home over the next few days.

Science Fair Update

Science Fair data was due to Ms. Bissonette on Monday, May 15 (OR sometime this week if necessary due to the Alpena trip or ordering of materials) for a formative grade.

Science Fair boards will be due to Mr. Miller on Thursday, June 1st for a summative grade.

Monday, May 15

Today in class the 8th graders found solutions to quadratics using 3 different methods in “Solutions Bookwork”. Please complete the Study Guide Pt. 2 for the final exam at home, we will check it on Wednesday. Tomorrow is the Axis of Symmetry quiz.

Today in class the 6th graders practiced using the percent proportion in “Percents Bookwork”. Tomorrow is the ratios and unit rates quiz!
