Friday, April 13
Today in class the 8th graders solved real-world growth and decay problems. Then they watched a video on exponential tables and took notes in their interactive notebook. There is no homework unless you have missing work to complete.
Today in class the 6th graders calculated the volume of their STEM Apps backpack project. The IXL for today is 6.HH.1 on statistical measures.
Have a great weekend!
Thursday, April 12
Today in class the 8th graders solved real-world word problems involving growth and decay as a whole group. The only homework you have is to complete Tuesday’s IXLs from after the M-STEP. Do not finish the worksheet at home.
Today in class the 6th graders practiced drawing nets of cubes on paper and electronically. The assignment is called, “Drawing Nets” in google classroom. You may finish this at home of necessary.
Wednesday, April 11
Today the 8th graders took the math portion of the MSTEP. There is no assignment for them.
Today the 6th graders had 4 IXL for classwork: IXL 7.B.6 Integer Inequalities (95), IXL 7.I.9 Square Roots (95), IXL 6.P.1 Compare Rational Numbers (95), and IXL 6.CC.9 Angles in Quadrilaterals (95). These may be completed at home if necessary.
Tuesday, April 10
Today the 8th graders took the English Language Arts M-STEP, so there is no assignment for them.
Today the 6th graders were assigned four IXL 5.DD.2, 6.EE.1, 6.EE.2, 6.EE.3 as classwork to review polyhedron and nets. You may complete these at home if necessary.
Monday, April 9
Today in class the 8th graders reviewed exponential growth by creating tables, graphs, and equations on the worksheet, “Growth: Tables, Graphs, Evaluating Equations”. Please complete IXL 8.F.10 from before break to 95%. Tomorrow is the M-STEP. Please bring a novel to read.
Today in class the 6th graders made nets for 3-dimensional polyhedron and counted the edges, bases, and lateral faces that each figure has. Please complete IXL 6.E.9 from before break to 90%.
Thursday, March 29
Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on exponent rules, polynomials, and exponential functions. Your daily dose of IXL is 8.F.10 on combining exponent rules.
Today in class the 6th graders took their quiz on area. Today’s IXL is 6.E.9 on LCM & GCF word problems.
Enjoy your break!
Tuesday, March 27
I was not at school for 1,2, and 3 rd hours because of my math professional development.
Today in class the 8th graders practiced finding growth and decay rates and factors of exponential functions. They were also assigned two IXL to complete in class, 8.BB.6 & A.X.1. You can complete these IXL at home.
Today in class the 6th graders practiced writing integers and finding the absolute value. If you were absent yesterday, you need to watch the absolute value videos and take notes in your interactive notebook on p. 23. Today’s IXL are 6.P.3 on absolute value and 6.FF.10 on geometry.
Monday, March 26
Today in class the 8th graders worked to graph and create a table for a real-world half life problem. Then they worked with a partner to complete, “Decay Bookwork” in google classroom.
Today in class the 6th graders took notes in their interactive notebook on Absolute Value of Integers. Then we began “Integers Bookwork.” This may be completed at home if necessary.
Friday, March 23
Today the 8th graders who will attend EFHS & FHS did their scheduling first hour. There is no math assignment for first hour.
In 2nd hour students worked with partners to solve real-world problems with right triangles in, “Distance Applications #1-2”. This is due Monday.
Today in class the 6th graders (3rd & 4th hour only) worked on graphing and area calculation in, “Polygons on the Coordinate Plane”. There is no assignment for 6th hour because of our assembly.
