Friday, Sept. 14

Today we only met with hours 1,2,3.

Today in class the 8th graders analyzed three real-world situations to determine whether or not they are functions in, “Introduction to Functions”, in google classroom. Finish this at home if necessary.

Reminder: Monday is the last day to submit Algebra Cards!

Today in class the 6th graders (3rd hour ONLY) did the same work that hours 4 and 6 did this week. They created a monster in, “Ratio Monster” (see google classroom), worked with a partner on p. 5-8 from our Ready textbook, and have the IXL 6.R.2 & 6.R.3 to complete this weekend.

Thursday, Sept. 13

The 8th graders did not have class today because of NWEA testing. Please make sure your Identifying Functions Worksheet from Tuesday is complete for tomorrow’s class.

The 6th graders (hours 4 and 6 only, 3rd hour did not meet today) continued to work with ratios by creating their own monster that meets certain ratio requirements in “Ratio Monster” (see google classroom). Today’s IXL is 6.R.3 on equivalent ratios. Students began this in class and will need to complete this at home.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Today in class the 8th graders worked together to identify independent and dependent variables in functions, and to complete the worksheet, Identifying Functions. This is homework if it is not complete.

Today in class the 6th graders completed the assignment in google classroom called, “Cats And Dogs” to write ratios.  Today’s IXL 6.R.1 was started in class. You may finish this at home if necessary. Students also signed in to Prodigy Math (a math game website) to practice writing ratios.  They may continue playing this at home if they would like to.

Monday, Sept. 10

Today in class the 8th graders watched a quick video to review functions and build some new vocabulary. Then we worked on IXL A.Q.1 to review skills taught in today’s video. Please finish this at home!

Today in class the 6th graders watched a very short video to introduce writing rations. Then we worked with partners to complete pages in our new math textbooks. These books will be kept in class. We will tear out any page that is homework. There is no homework today in 6th grade.

Friday, September 7

Today in class the 8th graders solved picture equations for variables with partners and wrote paragraphs to explain their reasoning.  Please finish your paragraphs at home.

Today in class the 6th graders had one IXL for bellwork. Please complete IXL 5.V.8 at home if you didn’t finish it in class. We also worked with a partner to review conversion factors from elementary school. The back of this worksheet is not homework.

Thursday, September 6

Today in class all students wrote down our group and classroom norms in their interactive notebook using graphic organizers. They decided on these norms during yesterday’s activity.

The 6th graders got their logins for IXL.com today and completed IXL 5.CC.1 and 5.U.3 to review skills and become familiar with the website. You may finish these at home if necessary:)

The 8th grade did not receive new IXL. Keep working on completing the summer learning.

Thursday, August 30

Today all 6th and 8th graders received their new passwords for logging into google. They also enrolled in Ms. Bissonette’s google classroom and completed their first assignment about getting to know Ms. B.

Please try to bring a composition notebook to class next Tuesday so we can begin using them.

8th graders have one IXL to finish, 8.C.8, that we began in class.

6th graders will get their IXL logins next week sometime.

Enjoy the long weekend!
