Thursday, Dec. 13

Today I attended a professional development and had a guest/substitute teacher.

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.U.1 on systems of equations for bellwork.  Classwork was also about systems and was called, “The Shoe Problem/Video Games”, and a worksheet called, “Sketch the Graph of Each Line” on standard form. Tomorrow is your quiz on Standard Form.

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.M.1 on integers for bellwork. Then they took their quiz on division and adding/subtracting decimals. You have no homework unless you need to complete yesterday’s IXL 6.H.2 on multiplying decimals.

Wednesday, Dec.12

Today in class the 8th graders took notes int heir interactive notebook on graphing systems.  Classwork was called, “Intro to Systems Bookwork”, and a worksheet called, “Solving a System of Equations by Graphing#1”. Please make sure your study guide from yesterday is complete.  You have a quiz Friday on standard form graphing and using the calculator to find the correlation coefficient from a scatter plot.  IXL A.S.16 & 17 were assigned Monday & Tuesday to prepare you for this quiz.

Today in class the 6th graders reviewed how to multiply decimals using IXL 6.H.2 to 90%.  No calculator is allowed.  We also checked Monday’s division worksheet to prepare for tomorrow’s quiz.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL A.S.17 for bellwork on standard form.  The classwork was called, “Picking Apples”, in google classroom on graphing systems.  Students also received part 1 of the study guide for January’s midterm exam. We will check this tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 4.D.4 for bellwork on multiples of numbers. The classwork was pages 92-96 in their Ready Common Core books.  Homework is to make sure yesterday’s division worksheet is complete so we can check it tomorrow.

Monday, Dec. 10

Today in class the 8th graders had bellwork IXL A.S.16 on standard form intercepts. Then they worked with partners to graph a real world system of equations in, “Jim’s Gym”.  This assignment is classwork, so it is due tomorrow!

Today in class th e6th graders had bellwork IXL 6.E.4 on factors.  Then they watched a few videos on using the long division algorithm before beginning the worksheet, “Long Division Worksheet”. It is posted in google classroom in case you lost yours.

Friday, Dec. 7

Today in class the 8th graders graphed lines in standard form on the worksheet, “Graphing Lines in Standard Form”, and created a scatter plot on the calculators in, “Trend Line Calculator Practice”.  Your homework is to catch up on this week’s IXL A.S.11 & 8.Z.6.

Today in class the 6th graders completed bellwork 6.U.3 on adding and subtracting decimals.  Classwork was the orange packet for  lesson 8 on division. This is due Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday, Dec. 6

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL 8.Z.6 for bellwork. Classwork was called, “US Garbage” on scatter plots, and “Finding X & Y Intercepts” about standard form. Most students finished this in class, but some may need to finish up at home. Please work on completing your missing IXL A.S.11 tonight.

Today in class the 6th graders took a pop quiz on percents (tax, tip, and discounts) after completing IXL 6.G.2  on decimal addition and subtraction.  Your homework is to complete you missing work including missing IXLs.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Today in class the 8th graders began IXL A.S.11 on standard form.  They also took notes on graphing lines on standard form. Homework is to complete the IXL to 95%.

Today in class the 6th graders completed IXL 6.G.4 on adding decimals. Classwork was a worksheet called “Percent Proportions” and is due tomorrow. You may finish this st home if necessary.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Today in class the 8th graders took notes on Standard Form of linear functions.  The bellwork was IXL A.KK.10 on scatter plots. Your only homework is to complete missing work!

Today in class the 6th graders reviewed long division in their Ready Common Core book. The bellwork was IXL 6.U.2 on decimal addition and subtraction.  Your only homework is to complete missing work, including today’s bellwork!

Monday, Dec. 3

Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on inequalities. Classwork is called, “Santa Rosa Graphs” about reading and comparing graphs. Please finish this at home if necessary. Today’s bellwork was IXL 8.CC.14 on scatter plots.

Today in class the 6th graders took notes in their interactive notebook to summarize the end of our unit on converting fractions, decimals, and percents. Today’s bellwork IXL was 6.I.10. There is no homework!

Friday, Nov. 30

Today in class the 8th graders practiced calculating correlation coefficient on the graphing calculators.  Bellwork was IXL A.KK.8 on trends of scatter plots.  Your only homework is to make sure this week’s IXL A.K.10 is complete for Monday’s quiz on inequalities.

*Monday is the last day to turn in “The Meaning of Correlation” and “Correlation Connections”.

Today in class the 6th graders learned about calculating tax and tip in the assignment, “Tip Your Waiter, Please.”  Today’s bellwork was IXL 6.G.1 on decimal operations without a calculator. Please finish anything you need from class at home.
