Wednesday, Feb. 13

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.9 on polynomial vocabulary. This is due Friday by midnight. Classwork was called, “Algebra Vocabulary Analysis” in google classroom. Then students watched a short video to review the exponent rules of multiplication.  Your only homework is to complete the IXL. There will be an interactive notebook check for p. 24-25 tomorrow!

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.M.6 on integers. This IXL & Monday’s IXL are due Friday by midnight. Then they took their quiz on integers and the coordinate plane. Homework is to complete the Absolute Value worksheet from class today. We will check it tomorrow.

Monday, Feb. 11

Today in class the 8th graders were given IXL A.H.2 & A.I.2 on simplifying expressions.  Classwork was a worksheet called, “Algebra Phone” and “Parts of a Polynomials”.  Some students need to complete the IXLs and “Parts of a Polynomial” at home tonight. 

 

Today in class the 6th graders were given IXL 7.X.6 on reflections. Classwork was a CER called, “It’s Warmer in Miami”.  Then they began their Orange Packet Lesson 14 p. 145-148.  Homework is to complete the IXL 7.X.6 to 90% and/or finish the orange packet depending on which you did in class.

Friday, Feb. 8

Today in class the 8th graders took their midterm/final exam! Any late work is due by Monday at 2:15.

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.X.5 on distance in the coordinate plane to prepare for Wednesday’s quiz. Classwork was called, “Mile High City”, in google classroom. We also completed a few pages in our Ready Common Core book. Please complete IXL at home if necessary.

Any late work, including the orange packet on lesson 13 and quiz corrections, is due by Monday at 2:15.

Thursday, Feb. 7

Today in class the 8th graders had two assignments to review for the final.  The first was classwork on using the graphing calculator to find correlation coefficient. The second is to be completed at home, called, “Worked Examples-Elimination”.  Your final is tomorrow, so do not be absent or late to school!

*Monday is the last day to turn in anything that is missing from this marking period, including IXL!

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 7.B.6 on integers for bellwork.  Then they worked on the Orange Packet-Lesson 13.  This is due tomorrow! Our quiz on integers and graphing will be next Wednesday.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Today in class the 8th graders reviewed for Friday’s exam by beginning the bellwork on substitution in IXL 8.Z.16 (we will continue in class tomorrow), and reviewed domain and range of graphs. This is due tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders completed IXL 7.B.4 on absolute value. Then we read some pages out of our Ready textbook. Homework is to finish the worksheet called, “Distributive Property”. 

Monday, Feb. 4

Today in class the 8th graders had three assignments in google classroom to review for Friday’s final exam. They were IXL 8.Y.12 on standard form, Worked Examples on substitution, and Equations bookwork on consecutive integers. These are due tomorrow.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.M.3 on integers for bellwork. Then they completed the assignment in google classroom called, “Juneau, Alaska” and worked on a few pages from their Ready Common Core book on integers. Your homework is to complete missing work from today or otherwise at home:) The students got back their Lesson 11 quiz and may make corrections in google classroom until Monday, Feb. 11.

Friday, Feb. 1

Today in class the 8th graders took notes on consecutive integers and finding them using equations. Classwork was the worksheet “Consecutive Integer Story Problems.”  We will check this Monday.  Today’s IXL was 8.Y.8 on slope-intercept form.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had classwork called, “Least Common Multiple CERs” where they answered LCM problems using paragraphs with evidence. They also had time to work on last week’s IXL 7.A.7 on LCM & GCF. Each class had a different bellwork because of last week’s NWEA testing schedule.  Your homework is to complete any missing work, like the Lesson 14 orange packet and missing IXL.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on substitution and elimination.  There was no bellwork.  They also received their Study Guide Part 3 for the final exam (which is NEXT Friday). Please complete this over the next few days. We will check it Friday.

 

Today in class the 6th graders began IXL 7.A.7 on LCM & GCF word problems. Then they took their quiz on LCM & GCF.  Homework is to complete the IXL over the next few days.

Friday, Jan. 25

Today was the science NWEA.

There is no new assignment for 8th grade. Please make sure IXL A.T.6 is completed to 90% (email me when completed) and the elimination word problems worksheet is due Monday.

 

Today in class the 6th graders (hours 4 & 6 only) received their orange packet for Lesson 14 on the coordinate plane.  They had most of class to work on it with a partner. Students in 3rd hour got it last week. Please finish it at home if necessary. This packet is due Monday for all 6th graders.
