Thursday, Oct 13

Today in class the 8th graders learned how to graph linear functions in standard and point-slope form. Tomorrow we will check the assignment in GC, “Forms of A Linear Function” graphs. We began it in class together to make sure there are no questions.

Today in class the 6th graders began a project about area of quadrilaterals using a coordinate plane. They are creating their own college dorm room. This project is summative and there are NO REDOS on this project. Do it correctly the first time, and use the rubric that is posted in GC. Projects are due Monday and must be colored neatly!

Wednesday, Oct 12

Today in class the 8th graders finished presenting projects, all grades are up to date. We are practicing using the Pythagorean Theorem to find missing sides of a triangle before calculating perimeter. You may finish up tonight’s IXL at home for the next marking period.

Today in class the 6th graders investigated prism and pyramid attributes using nets. Homework is to annotate and summarize the text on trapezoid area calculation methods in GC.  We will discuss this in class tomorrow.

Tuesday, Oct 11

In class today, the 8th graders took notes in their interactive notebook about three forms of a linear function. Your homework is IXL 8.R.2 on the Pythagorean Theorem.

In class today, the 6th graders made 3 dimensional solids using nets and counted edges, bases, and faces. Your homework is to make sure yesterday’s IXL 7.AA.3 is completed to 95%.

ALL LATE WORK IS DUE WEDNESDAY!

Monday, Oct 10

Today in class the 8th graders began their presentations. We are working on domain and range of real-world situations. Homework is to finish the worksheet, “D&R” from class.

Today in class the 6th graders are calculating the area of trapezoids and triangles. They began IXL 7.AA.3 in class and can finish at home if need be.

Friday, Oct 7

Today in class the 8th graders are using the Pythagorean Theorem. Homework is to finish IXL A.Q.7 about evaluating functions.

Today in class the 6th graders made a proof for the area of a trapezoid. They need to finish “Trapezoids” at home and use the graph paper as a measuring tool. Please answer the 4 Checking for Understanding questions on looseleaf.

Thursday , Oct. 6

Today in class, the 8th graders solved problems using the Pythagorean Theorem. Your project is due by midnight tomorrow!

Today the 6th graders are decomposing parallelograms and trapezoids, and “Area of Parallelograms and Trapezoids #1” is for homework.

Wednesday, Oct 5

In class today the 8th graders explored triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem. Your homework is to make sure your final project is submitted by midnight on Friday!

In class today the 6th graders are practicing finding perimeter, area, base, or height or parallelograms and triangles. Finish any incomplete classwork (Independent Practice or Base & Height) in GC at home. Make sure 7.AA.2 is at 95%. Mumford the Moose is due by midnight tonight!

Tuesday, Oct 4

Today in class the 8th graders learned real-world applications for the Pythagorean Theorem. Continue to work at home on your Events Project. Your project is summative and due Friday!

Today in class the 6th graders practiced finding area and missing dimensions of parallelograms. You do not need to finish the classwork at home. Your homework is to make sure Mumford is complete. The summative paragraph is due tomorrow!

Monday, Oct 3

Today in class the 8th graders took their multi-step equations quiz. They were assigned their project on Events Graphs that is due on Friday. They had class time today to begin this, the remainder should be completed outside of class. We will present them to the class NEXT WEEK.

Today in class the 6th graders took notes on parallelograms and discovered the relationship between the area of a rectangle and a parallelogram. Please finish IXL 7.AA.2 at home is necessary. Remember, your Mumford the Moose paragraph is due Wednesday!
