Tuesday, Dec. 10

Today in class the 8th graders were given more time to complete IXL A.U.2 on graphing systems, then begin IXL A.S.15 on comparing functions. We checked yesterdays work and then began, ” Graphing Lines & Killing Zombies,” by graphing lines in all three forms.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7G.13 on dividing mixed numbers. Please complete this at home with NO CALCULATOR! Classwork is a computer module we will be working on all week in collaboration with the NHL and EverFi.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned, “Molly’s Run,” for bellwork. Then we checked yesterday’s classwork. Today’s classwork/homework is the worksheet from Lesson 15 from our REady Common Core book. You have a quiz Thursday on the distributive property & simplifying expressions!

Monday, Dec. 9

Today in class the 8th graders were given time to continue IXL A.U.2 on systems. Then they took notes and watched a video about using point-slope form and converting it into slope intercept form. Classwork was a worksheet called, “Graphing Using Intercepts” to practice using all three forms.


Today in class the 6th graders completed Friday’s worksheet on dividing fractions for bellwork and turned it in. Then we worked with partners to solve real-world word problems involving division of fractions. You should not have homework.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned, “Simplifying Expressions”, for bellwork. Classwork was the worksheet/packet on lesson 14, simplifying expressions. This is due tomorrow.

Friday, Dec. 6

Tonight is Family Night from 5-7pm!

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.U.2 on graphing systems. Classwork was a graphing assignment in google called, “Jim’s Gym”. Please finish any IXL you need at home.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned a worksheet of dividing fractions and then completed p. 70-73 in their math book with a partner. There is no homework!

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.J.10 on proportions. Then they checked yesterday’s worksheet, turned in their interactive notebook for a grade, and began the assignment in google classroom called, “Ratios Involving Complex Fractions.” This is due Monday. The LAST day to turn in your CER is MONDAY!

Thursday, Dec. 5

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.19 (80 smart score) on graphing in standard form. Then we used the graphing calculators to check our work from yesterday. We began some real world applications of standard form and will finish this tomorrow. Your only homework is to finish IXL A.S.19

Today in class the 6th graders had bellwork called, “Milk & Cookies Math” in google classroom. Then we completed pages in our Ready Common Core math book on dividing fractions. You have NO homework!

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.J.5 on unit rates. Classwork was called, “Well Drilling,” and most students had time to critique each other’s CERs. Homework is to complete the worksheet on lesson 9 dividing fractions.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

Today in class the 8th graders were given more time to complete Monday’s IXL 8.Z.11 on writing linear functions from tables, before beginning A.S.18 on finding intercepts. Classwork was the worksheet called, “Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing” where they worked in groups to graph equations in slope-intercept form and standard form. Please complete any thing you need at home.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.D.6 on exponents of fractional bases. Then we continued giving presentations. Please complete the IXL at home.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.17 on factoring to continue from yesterday. Then we had a workday to complete our irrational numbers project and write the CER. This summative project is due tomorrow or Friday! That means the last possible day to turn it in is Monday!

Tuesday, Dec. 3

Today in class the 8th graders were given more time to bring IXL 8.Z.11 up to 95. Then we continued to learn about standard form and completed worksheet in finding intercepts and graphing. Please complete IXL at home.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.D.5 on decimal exponents. Use a calculator! Then we continued our presentations. Please complete IXL at home.

Today in class the 7th graders were given more time to complete IXL 7.R.16 on factoring and then assigned IXL 8.V.17 on factoring. Then we began our non-perfect squares project. The project is NOT homework, we will continue it in class tomorrow. Please complete IXL at home.

Monday, Dec.2

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.Z.11 on writing equations from tables. Then we took notes on standard form. Please finish up IXL at home.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Y.4 on order of operations. Then we continued slideshow presentations from before break. Please finish up IXL at home.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.R.16 on factoring. Then we began our final project on estimating the square roots of non-perfect squares. Tomorrow will be an additional workday on class. Please finish up IXL at home.

Tuesday, Nov. 26

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned “No Shave November,” an algebraic puzzle, for bellwork. Then we worked in small groups to write equations and graph systems to find their solution. Homework is to complete yesterday’s IXL A.U.1 on solutions to systems. Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.O.3 on order of operations. Then we continued presentations and critiquing others. Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.10 on vocabulary. Then we took our quiz on roots and rational numbers. Classwork/homework is the worksheet called, “Simplifying Expressions Practice.” Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Monday, Nov. 25

Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on slope intercept form and rate of change in context. Classwork was to finish up last week’s IXL A.S.8 and Picking Apples before beginning IXL A.U.1 on solutions of systems and the 1/2 worksheet called, “How Many Solutions?”.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 5.O on parenthesis. Then we began to present our slideshows on discount & sales tax. We will continue these tomorrow.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.D.5 on rational numbers. Then we checked Friday’s green packet on cube roots. Classwork was the green packet on Lesson 3 irrational numbers. Quiz tomorrow on square and cube roots and rational vs. irrational numbers.

Friday, Nov. 22

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.8 on writing equations in slope intercept form. Today’s classwork was called, “Picking Apples.” Please finish this at home if you need. Monday’s quiz will be a review of rate of change in context, as well as graphing in slope intercept form.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.I.2 & 8.F.2 on exponents. Classwork was to complete the self-evaluation for the discount slideshow. This summative assessment presentations begin Monday. Please finish “The Economics of Thanksgiving” from Thursday over the weekend.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.I.11 on estimating roots. Then they had a work day to work on missing things including today’s classwork, which was the Green Packet on lesson 2 to prepare for next Tuesday’s quiz on square and cube roots! Please finish “The Economics of Thanksgiving” from Thursday over the weekend.

Monday is the last day to turn in any work from this week! For 7th grade this includes “The Economics of Thanksgiving” and “Lesson 3 Slideshow”.
