We made it to February!

Today in class the 8th graders got a word problem study guide and reviewed interval notation in “Domain and Range pennants.” We will check these Monday. Please complete last week’s IXL A.T.6 (80) & A.T.1 (95).

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.B (95) on opposite integers. Then we took our quiz on LCM & GCF. Please complete IXL over the weekend.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.W.11 (90) or 8.Z.8 (95) from yesterday. Then we solved equations from our Ready CC Book. Homework is to complete your COP write-up from yesterday and the IXLs, it is due Monday!

Thursday, Jan. 30

Today in class the 8th graders continued using the TiNspires to create scatter lots, calculate linear regression and correlation coefficient. Then they were assigned IXL A.T.1 (95) on inequality solutions, and some need to complete IXL A.T.6 (80) from yesterday. The math final is Wednesday, Feb 12. If your student will not be here those days, please email me so I can set up someone to proctor the exam for them.

I have learning center next Tuesday in case you would like to use the graphing calculators after school.

Today in class the 6th graders completed their word problems worksheet on LCM & GCF from yesterday. Then we checked yesterday’s factoring worksheet. Then students worked in pairs to complete lesson 12 on integers from the Ready math book. Homework is to study your orange packet and bellwork for tomorrow’s quiz on LCM & GCF word problems.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.Z.8 (95) on function tables. Then they worked to complete the write up from yesterday’s project. This is due Monday!

Wednesday, Jan. 29

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.T.6 (80) on linear inequality systems. Then we watched some videos to practice using the graphing calculator to complete, “Trend Line Practice.” Homework is to complete yesterday & today’s IXL.

Today in class the 6th graders were given bellwork worksheet of LCM & GCF Word problems that we solved together. Then we checked the study guide Orange PAcket 11. Classwork/homework was p. 388-389 on factoring and distributing.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.S.8 on equations. Then they worked to create a poster of matching word scenarios to their equations, tables, and graphs. There is a write up portion of this assignment that we will do in class tomorrow. Homework is to complete late and missing IXL.

Tuesday, Jan 28

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.KK.10 (95) on correlation coefficients. Then we watched a quick video and worked in groups to match up correlation coefficients. Homework is any missing IXL!

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.E.11 (90) on word problems for LCM & GCF. Then they received their “Orange Packet Lesson 11,” which is a study guide for the next quiz (either Friday or Monday). We worked on this in class, but some students may need to finish it at home depending on how long their IXL took.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.K.10 (95) on reading graphs. Then we watched the iReady interactive on solving equations. Homework is to complete the worksheet, “Solve the Equations C.”

Monday, Jan 27

Today in class th e8th graders were assigned IXL A.J.9 (95) on solutions to equations. Then we worked in small groups to analyze scenarios for their type of correlation on, “Correlation Task Cards.” Then they began their homework, “One, None, or IMS,” a review worksheet for the midterm on solving equations. Please finish this at home if necessary.

The Algebra 1 midterm is scheduled for Feb 12! Do not make appointments for this day.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 5.F.9 (95) on GCF. classwork was called, “LCM Word Problems CERS“, and then we worked on completing Friday’s LCM & GCF mystery worksheet, which is homework if you don’t finish it at school.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.K.5 (95). Then classwork was a Proportional/Non-Proportional function sort. Homework is a scanned pdf called ” Proportional vs. Non-Proportional Homework”.

Friday, Jan. 24

Today in 8th grade students had twenty minutes or so to work on any IXL they need to finish 8.CC (100), A.S.12 (95), and IXL A.KK.8 (95). Then we analyzed patterns of scatterplots to determine their correlation coefficients. Classwork was called, “The Meaning of Correlation Coefficients.” Please finish whichever IXL you need over the weekend.

Today in 6th grade students were assigned IXL 6.E.9 on least common multiples. Classwork was a CER called, “The Florist.” Then we worked with each other to find LCM & GCF on “Mystery Graph.” Please only complete half for homework! We will continue this in class on Monday.

Today in clas the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.K.7 on proportional tables. Classwork/homework was called, “Good Morning,” about graphing proportional relationships.

Thursday, Jan. 23

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.CC on making scatter plots. Then we took notes from a quick video on correlation. Classwork was called “Correlation Connections,” in google classroom. Homework is to complete today and/or yesterday’s IXL 8.CC. & A.S.12.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Y.3 on writing expressions. Then we worked in pairs to complete pgs. 110-115 in or math books about least common multiple. You only have homework if you need to finish IXL.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.K.6 on direct proportion. Then we checked last week’s equations WS. Classwork was “Playing with Data,” on a worksheet, and “Solve the Equation B WS.” Please finish what you need at home.

Wednesday, Jan 22

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.12 on writing point slope form into slope intercept form. Then we checked yesterday’s study guide. Classwork was with a partner, they had to sort systems into three categories based on the number of solutions, and then use elimination and substitution to find the solutions. This is due tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders (3rd hour) were assigned IXL 6.Y.1 & 6.Y2 on writing variable expressions. Then they watched two interactives on dot plots and line plots to prepare for MSTEP. (This is the same assignment that 4th hour did last week.)

Tuesday, Jan. 21
