Tuesday, Nov. 26

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned “No Shave November,” an algebraic puzzle, for bellwork. Then we worked in small groups to write equations and graph systems to find their solution. Homework is to complete yesterday’s IXL A.U.1 on solutions to systems. Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.O.3 on order of operations. Then we continued presentations and critiquing others. Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.10 on vocabulary. Then we took our quiz on roots and rational numbers. Classwork/homework is the worksheet called, “Simplifying Expressions Practice.” Please complete any late work over the break, it will NOT be accepted after Monday, Dec. 2

Monday, Nov. 25

Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on slope intercept form and rate of change in context. Classwork was to finish up last week’s IXL A.S.8 and Picking Apples before beginning IXL A.U.1 on solutions of systems and the 1/2 worksheet called, “How Many Solutions?”.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 5.O on parenthesis. Then we began to present our slideshows on discount & sales tax. We will continue these tomorrow.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.D.5 on rational numbers. Then we checked Friday’s green packet on cube roots. Classwork was the green packet on Lesson 3 irrational numbers. Quiz tomorrow on square and cube roots and rational vs. irrational numbers.

Friday, Nov. 22

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.8 on writing equations in slope intercept form. Today’s classwork was called, “Picking Apples.” Please finish this at home if you need. Monday’s quiz will be a review of rate of change in context, as well as graphing in slope intercept form.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.I.2 & 8.F.2 on exponents. Classwork was to complete the self-evaluation for the discount slideshow. This summative assessment presentations begin Monday. Please finish “The Economics of Thanksgiving” from Thursday over the weekend.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.I.11 on estimating roots. Then they had a work day to work on missing things including today’s classwork, which was the Green Packet on lesson 2 to prepare for next Tuesday’s quiz on square and cube roots! Please finish “The Economics of Thanksgiving” from Thursday over the weekend.

Monday is the last day to turn in any work from this week! For 7th grade this includes “The Economics of Thanksgiving” and “Lesson 3 Slideshow”.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Today in class the 8th graders were given some time to complete yesterday’s IXL A.Z.12. Classwork was a worksheet called, “Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing #2,” which we will check Friday. (I will be at Jury Duty tomorrow!)

6th grade class was NOT held today. Continue your slideshow at home. It is due Friday OR Monday. (I will be at Jury Duty tomorrow!)

Today in class he 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.F.21 on cube roots. Then we checked yesterday’s worksheet. Students got back their quizzes and corrections are due in the blue folder by next TUESDAY at 2:!5! Classwork/homework is to complete the lesson 3 slideshow. (I will be at Jury Duty tomorrow!)

Tuesday, Nov. 19

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.Z.12 on comparing functions. Then we worked with partners to use substitution to match tables with graphs and equations on a partner quiz. Homework is to complete IXL 8.Z.12.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.V.1 on coupons. Then we continued to work on our discount and tax slideshow. We will not have class tomorrow because of the DSO field trip. Please complete this by FRIDAY!

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.F.20 on cube roots. Then they worked at their own pace to complete Friday’s bookwork p. 14-22 and today’s classwork, “Unit 1 Review Worksheet”. This is due tomorrow.

Monday, Nov. 18

Today in class the 8th graders were given time to continue IXL A.S.14, which is now homework. The classwork was called, “Comparing Functions,” where we found solutions looked at similarities and differences between a linear ad quadratic function. This should have been completed in class.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.G.9 on multiplying fractions. Classwork was to begin their slideshow project on calculating discount and tax. We will continue this in class tomorrow.

Today in class the 7th graders were given more time to complete IXL 6.V.7 on tax, tip, and commission from Friday. Then they took their quiz on Ready CC lessons 6-8. After that, they continued Friday’s bookwork on square & cube roots. Homework is to complete the IXL.

Friday, Nov. 15

Today in clas the 8th graders had more time to complete IXL A.S.14 on graphing functions. Then we presented our MathemaFISH projets. Homework is to catch up on IXL. The last day to turn in late work is MONDAY, including MathemaFISH!

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.M.11 on tip. The classwork was called, “Your Favorite Restaurant,” and most student do not have homework.

Today in clas the 7th graders were assigned IXL 6.V.10 on tax, tip, & commission. Then we corrected yesterday’s worksheet. Classwork was the Ready Common Core math bookwork p. 14-22. Homework is to catch up on IXL and missing work. The last day to turn in late work from last week is MONDAY!

Thursday, Nov. 14

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.14 on graphing in slope intercept form. Classwork was to watch a video on graphing and answer the reflection paragraph. You should NOT have any homework unless you need to finish the classwork.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.L.6 on percents. Classwork was to order a meal from real menus and calculate the tax, tip, and total in, “Tip Your Waiter, Please.” You should NOT have any homework unless you need to finish the classwork.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.F.19 on roots. Then they worked with a partner to complete the Tax, Tip, & Commission worksheet. You may complete these at home if necessary.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.S.4 on slope of ordered pairs. Then we went to the lecture hall for our presentation from Dr. Desouza.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.I.10 on converting fractions to decimals using technology. Then we watched a quick video on calculating sales tax before beginning, “Shopping Spree.” Please finish this at home.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 8.F.16 on square roots. Then they had class time to complete Monday’s sorting project. This bright green paper is due tomorrow. Students were also assigned a video to watch to review tax and commission for tomorrow’s activity. If you do not watch it at home ad take notes, you will have to watch it in class before tomorrow’s activity.

After School Activities Cancelled!

Hello All,
Due to current weather conditions ALL  after school activities will be cancelled for Monday, November 11, 2019. This includes all Middle School Parent/Teacher Conferences, the Dearborn High Athletic banquet, and all Adult and Community Education classes.    
At this time the Board Meeting will be held as scheduled.
