Monday, Sep. 16

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.K.6 & A.K.7 on one step inequalities. We corrected and critiqued each other’s homework before taking some notes on solving multi step inequalities. You should finish the IXL after tomorrow’s NWEA test or at home tonight.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.X.2 on coordinate graphing. We also completed p. 5-11 in our math textbook. You should finish the IXL after tomorrow’s NWEA test or at home tonight.

Today in class the 7th graders were assigned IXL 7.C.9 on integer operations. We were assigned “Comparing Antifreeze” in google classroom and the worksheet “Color Me Integers”. You should finish these after tomorrow’s NWEA test or at home tonight.

Friday, Sep. 13

Today in class the 8th graders worked with partners on “Inequalities Worked Examples” to analyze the work and critique the reasoning of others. Please finish this at home if necessary. They were also given the syllabus today.

Today in class the 6th graders worked with developing class norms/rules. IXL is 6.X.6 on the coordinate plane. Please finish this at home if necessary.

Today in class the 7th graders reviewed yesterday’s assignment about additive inverses. The IXL is 7.C.2 on integer chips. Please finish this at home if necessary.

Thursday, Sep. 12

Today the 8th graders reviewed classifying rational numbers by viewing and reading to take their own notes. There will be a notebook check tomorrow! They were assigned IXL 7.H.4 & 8.A.9 on Rational Numbers.

Today the 6th graders completed the “Graph Equivalent Ratios Interactive” in google classroom and were assigned IXL 6.X.1 on the coordinate plane.

Today the 7th graders were assigned “Additive Inverses”, a short video to watch on additive inverses and questions to follow. They also need to complete the IXL 7.C.7 on integer rules.

Friday, Sep. 6 & Monday, Sep. 9

I have had a guest teacher in my classroom for the last few days while I was out of town. Students were assigned interactive videos to complete and a few IXL. They may continue to complete them this week after completing NWEA assessments.

This is what was assigned:

8th grade: IXL 8.W.1 & A.I.7 on solutions of equations

6th grade: IXL 6.R.1, 6.R.3, 6.R.4, 6.R.5 on writing ratios and equivalent ratios

7th grade: IXL 7.C.1, 7.C.3, 7.C.4, 7.C.6 on integer addition and subtraction

Thursday, Sep. 5

Today in class we began setting up our interactive notebooks. You will need to bring this to class each day.

Students (from all grades) only have homework if they didn’t complete yesterday’s CER, Which One Doesn’t Belong?” in google classroom. Please make sure you actually submitted it!

Tuesday, Sept. 3

Today in class all grades wrote their first math CER (claim, evidence, and reasoning) paragraph of the year! This will be one of many.

The 8th graders continued their fold and cut project where they are learning about how the brain grows as it learns from mistakes. Please finish up those summer IXL!

There is no official homework unless you would like to put any finishing touches on your classwork or have missing IXL.
