Today in class the 8th graders were given more time to complete yesterday’s IXL A.AA.2 on factoring. Classwork was “Quadratic Formula Practice” in google classroom, which is due Friday.  Please be sure to check google classroom tomorrow to get your assignment since we will not have math class.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 7.AA.2 on area. Then we checked out the M-STEP practice website to familiarize ourselves with it.  Classwork/homework was called, “Area of Trapezoids & Parallelograms,” which is due Friday.

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.AA.2 on factoring.  In class we took notes on the Quadratic Formula and began the worksheet, “Quadratic Formula Practice”. Your only homework is to finish IXL A.AA.2.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.AA.1 on inequalities. In class we investigated how to find area of parallelograms and trapezoids. Your only homework is to finish IXL 6.AA.1.

Today in class the 8th graders were given time to work on yesterday’s IXL A.AA.1 on factors. There is no additional assignment because of the field trip.

Today in class the 6th graders were given time to work on yesterday’s IXL 6.Z.8 on equations.  They were also given the hour to work on the orange packet for lesson 19. This is due Monday.

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.BB.3 on polynomials.  Classwork was the worksheet,
“Graphing Quadratics in Factored Form”, and the google classroom document called, “Rewrite in Standard Form.” These are due tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Z.8 on writing equations. I will give them class time tomorrow to finish this IXL, it is not homework.

3/4 th hours had classwork on solving equations called p. 390-391. Only do #1-18 on page 1 (IGNORE p. 2.) Show all work to solve the equations.

6th hour had the lesson 19 orange packet on equations.

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.15 on factors. Classwork was called, “Zero Product Property,” where students summarized this property in their own words. Please complete this or the IXL at home if necessary.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.FF.8 on triangle area.  Then we checked the assignments from the last three days. Please complete the IXL at home if necessary.

Today in class the 8th graders took their quiz on factoring and then were assigned IXL A.Z.3 on combining like terms using algebra tiles. Please finish this at home.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Z.6 on equations, “Parts of Expression,” and, “Area of Triangles.”  They had all hour to work on these because I attended a math professional development and had a guest teacher this afternoon.

Today in class th e8th graders were assigned IXL A.V.8 on exponents.  Classwork was “Factoring Pennants” hung up around the room. I will post these in google classroom in case you were absent. We also had some time to work on Friday’s assignment using technology. We have a quiz tomorrow on factoring and using the zero product property. 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Z.5 on equations & 6.FF.2 on area. Then we took our quiz on expressions. Please make sure your equations worksheet and all IXL from last week are complete. 

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.V.9 on exponents. Please finish this over the weekend. Classwork was using the TiNspire calculator to find solutions to quadratic functions.  This must be done in class to use the calculator.

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.Z.4 on using algebra tiles to write equations.

3/4th hours took notes on solving equations and were assigned “One Step Equations” in google classroom. Finish this at home if necessary.

6th hour continued to practice solving equations in, “p. 390-391” in google classroom. Finish this at home if necessary.

6th graders have a quiz Monday on expressions (translating verbal phrases into algebraic expressions, combining like terms, the distributive property, and evaluating using substitution.)

Today was the 8th grade Science M-STEP. There is no new assignment for math. We are checking Monday’s assignment tomorrow.
