Thursday, Feb. 28

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL 8.F.6 on negative exponents. Then we took notes in our interactive notebook. Your only homework is to finish the IXL if necessary.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.P.1 on comparing negative numbers. Then they took their quiz on fraction division. Your only homework is to finish the IXL if necessary.

Wednesday, Feb. 27

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.14 and 8.V.17 on simplifying expressions. Then they took their exponent quiz. Classwork was to watch the videos on exponents and take notes on p. 25 of your notebook.  Please finish up the IXL for homework if you need.

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.P.2 & 6.D.4 on exponents and ordering rational numbers.  Then we reviewed for tomorrow’s quiz by doing the “Clover Pennants” hanging around the room and finished yesterday’s bookwork. You may finish IXL up at home tonight if you need.

Tuesday, Feb 25

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL 6.D.5 and 8.BB.5 on exponents to prepare for tomorrow’s quiz. Classwork was a worksheet called, “Growth and Decay”, and the assignment in google classroom called, “Box Method for Multiplication”. These are due tomorrow.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.L.7 on multiplying fractions. Your quiz is Thursday. Then they worked with partners to complete pages in their Ready Common Core book about exponents and the order of operations. Your homework is to finish the bellwork IXL. 

Monday, Feb. 25

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.V.4 & A.V.7 to review for Wednesday’s quiz on exponent rules.  Classwork was called, “How Old is That Thing?” and “Allergy Medication” in google classroom. These are due by midnight tonight!

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.P.6 on graphing positives and negatives.  Classwork was “Word Problems Book work” and “Old School Video Games” in google classroom. Your quiz on dividing fractions is Thursday!

Friday, Feb. 22

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL8.BB.1 and A.V.2 on exponents.  The exponent quiz will be next Wednesday. Then they read and annotated the text called, “Radiocarbon Dating”. These are due by Sunday at midnight. 

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.L.5 on dividing fractions. Then they worked with partners to complete the fraction task cards. Homework is to complete the worksheet p. 359-360 if you didn’t in class. Your dividing fraction quiz will be next week!

Thursday, Feb. 21

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL A.Y.5 and A.Z.6 on exponent rules. These should have been completed in class.  We will take a quiz on them next week.  Then students had time to finish yesterday’s assignment on growth or decay.  Today’s classwork/homework is the worksheet called, “Exponential Functions Graphing Practice”. We will check it tomorrow.

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.L.4 on dividing fractions. Then we checked yesterday’s word problems.  Today’s classwork was called, “Dan’s Division Strategy” in google classroom. Then students were given the worksheet, “Complex Fractions to Unit Rates” to practice dividing fractions.  We will check it tomorrow.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

Today in class the 8th graders revised yesterday’s CER paragraphs and began the assignment, “Growth or Decay” which we will continue in class tomorrow.  The bellwork was IXL 8.F.11 & 8.BB.9 which are due tomorrow.

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.L.2 and 6.L.3 on dividing fractions.   Classwork was called “Dividing Fractions Word Problems#1”. These are due tomorrow!

 

 

Tuesday, Feb. 19

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL 8.Y.2 on exponents and A.Z.1 on vocabulary for bellwork. Classwork was called, “Linear or Exponential” and is due tomorrow.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.K.6 on multiplying fractions for bellwork. Then we worked on completing “Divide Fractions Bookwork #8-19” and it is due tomorrow. 

 

Progress reports are being mailed home next week! Anyone with a grade of C+ or lower will receive one.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.BB.6 on exponents. This is due Sunday at midnight. Then we had our notebook check.

Today in class the 6th graders were given time to complete IXL 7.X.6 and 6.M.6 on integers from earlier this week. These are due by Friday at midnight. We also checked the Absolute Value worksheet. Tuesday is the last day to turn this in.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

Today in class the 8th graders were assigned IXL 8.V.9 on polynomial vocabulary. This is due Friday by midnight. Classwork was called, “Algebra Vocabulary Analysis” in google classroom. Then students watched a short video to review the exponent rules of multiplication.  Your only homework is to complete the IXL. There will be an interactive notebook check for p. 24-25 tomorrow!

 

Today in class the 6th graders were assigned IXL 6.M.6 on integers. This IXL & Monday’s IXL are due Friday by midnight. Then they took their quiz on integers and the coordinate plane. Homework is to complete the Absolute Value worksheet from class today. We will check it tomorrow.
