Happy Halloween!

Today in class the 8th graders measured the circumference and diameter of pumpkins to investigate pi. You may finish the IXL 6.FF.11 from class at home (maybe not tonight:)

Today in class the 6th graders also measured the circumference and diameter of pumpkins to investigate pi. You do not have any homework (We will finish this in class Thursday).

Tuesday, Oct. 30

Today in class the 8th graders reviewed slope-intercept form.  Your only homework is to complete missing work by 2:15 tomorrow:)

 

Today in class the 6th graders reviewed comparing quantities using percentages in our Ready Textbook.  If you didn’t finish today’s classwork “Unit Rate Pennants”, they are scanned into google classroom for you. Remember to complete missing work by 2:15 tomorrow:)

Monday, Oct. 29

Today in class the 8th graders worked with partners to analyze the slope and y intercept of real-world situations in Linear Functions Desk Cards.  These are also posted in google classroom in case you need to finish this at home tonight. Bellwork was IXL A.S.6 on graphing in slope-intercept form. This may be completed at home if necessary.

 

Today in class the 6th graders wrote a CER on unit price called, “Ticket Booth”.  Today’s bellwork was IXL 6.T.8 on unit conversions that you may finish at home if necessary.

Friday, Oct. 26

*The marking period ends Next Friday, Nov. 2.  All late work is due on Wednesday, Oct. 31 by 2:15 pm.

 

Today in class the 8th graders had the entire hour to work on the written reflection summative assessment. This is due Monday, and the last day to turn it in is Wednesday.

 

Today in class the 6th graders finished presentations and began a unit rate pennant activity with a partner. It is not homework.  Please finish bellwork IXL 6.D.2 & 6.D.3 at home if necessary.

Thursday, Oct. 25

Today in class the 8th graders were given the entire class to work on the written reflection for this week’s group slope matching activity. They will also be given time in class Friday to work on this. The written assessment will be due Monday.  Students were also given a survey to complete at home with a family member about their college interests. Return this to me when you are done and I will give them to the counselor, Mr. Kemian. If you do not want this company to contact you, just do not include your address or phone number:) Please finish IXL A.S.13 if you didn’t complete it during bellwork. 

 

Today in class the 6th graders continued their presentations on unit price. There is no homework unless you need to finish bellwork, IXL 6.I.11.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Today in class the 8th graders finished their slope matching project. Tomorrow in class will be the written assessment part of the project.  Please finish today’s bellwork, IXL A.S.3 at home. There is not additional homework. 

 

Today in class the 6th graders began presenting their slideshows. Please finish today’s bellwork, IXL 5.R.2 at home. There is not additional homework. 

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Today in class the 8th graders did a small group matching activity to calculate slope in different forms.  Your only homework is to finish bellwork IXL A.R.2 at home if necessary.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had a “work day” to catch up on missing work including the slideshow, Jack Skellington, missing IXL, and yesterday’s substitute work. You have no homework unless you still need to complete missing work.  

Friday, Oct. 19

Today in class the 8th graders worked in groups to calculate slope. Your only homework is to complete missing work. Google classroom has a list of what those assignments are, and I asked everyone to write them in their planner today as well.

 

Today in class the 6th graders took a quiz on until rate. Then they had time to work on their Sale Flyer slideshow, which is due Monday, or Jack Skellington, which is due Tuesday. Bellwork was 6.O.3 which can be completed at home if need be.

Thursday, Oct. 18

Today I was at a math professional development most of the day:)

Today in class, the 8th graders watched a video about slope and took notes in their interactive notebook. They also had some equations to solve in google classroom called, “Number of Solutions A/B”. We will check this tomorrow.

Today in class, the 6th graders began a coordinate graphing picture including integers and negative decimals.  Since this is quite a lengthy assignment, it is not due until at least next Tuesday:)  To complete this is NOT tonight’s homework. You may complete some of it but do not need to do all of it. You may continue working on your slideshow as well. We will present them next week.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

Today in class the 8th graders had IXL 8.Z.4 for bellwork. Then they helped the 6th graders revise their Future City Essays.  We do not have math homework today unless you need to complete missing work.

 

Today in class the 6th graders had IXL 6.S.4 for bellwork. Then they continued working on their unit price projects that we began yesterday.  These will be due Monday by 2:15pm. We will present them next week.  The rubric is attached to the assignment in google classroom.
