Wednesday, Jan. 31

Today in class the 8th graders took noted on using elimination to solve a system of equations. Homework is to complete #1-14 at home. We will work  more on this tomorrow.

Today in class the 6th graders solved and graphed inequalities to prepare for Friday’s quiz in, “Solving Inequalities Worksheets”. Homework is to complete IXL 6.Z.5 on equation diagrams.

Tuesday, Jan. 30

Today the 8th graders watched a presentation from the counselor at Henry Ford Early College. We will check the Study Guide pt. 2 tomorrow. Please complete the IXL 8.Z.16 to prepare for the final.

Today in class the 6th graders worked in pairs to analyze errors in, “Inequalities Worked Examples” and then to complete, “4-2 Practice #1-24”.  We will check these tomorrow.

The topics are:

  1. Solving Inequalities
  2. Graphing Inequalities on a Number Line
  3. Solving Equations

The following IXLs have already been assigned but will help students prepare for the quiz if they would like to study:

  1. 6.AA.1
  2. 6.AA.2
  3. 6.AA.3
  4. 6.AA.4
  5. 5.V.5
  6. 5.V.6
  7. 6.Z.6
  8. 6.Z.7
  9. 6.Z.8

Friday, Jan 25

Today in class the 8th graders checked yesterday’s assignment and began IXL A.O.3 on consecutive integers.

Today in class the 6th graders checked yesterday’s assignment and began IXL 6.CC.7 on graphing polygons.

You may finish these over the weekend for the next card marking or do them in class Monday.

I will accept any emails for missing IXL and science expo data until 3pm today!

Thursday, Jan. 25

Today in class the 8th graders checked all three scatter plot assignments for this week.  We worked on, “Pledging Money for a Walk-a-Thon”, to graph and compare multiple linear functions. The IXL for today is A.KK.10 on correlation coefficient.

Today in class the 6th graders checked all three equations assignments for this week. We worked on “Inequalities Practice” in class (on google classroom) and began IXL 6.AA.4 on inequalities.

Any late IXL may be emailed to me until Friday at 3PM.

Tomorrow is a half day. Dismissal is 11:05am.

Wednesday, Jan 24

Today in class the 8th graders practiced using the TiNspire to calculate regression and correlation coefficient in “Math 10A”. We will check all three scatter plot assignments tomorrow. The IXL for today are A.KK.8 and A.S.18 to review for the final.

Today in class the 6th graders solved and graphed solutions to word problem equations in, “One Step Equation Applications”. The IXL is 6.AA.3 on inequalities. Please make sure you completed yesterday’s IXL!

Tuesday, Jan. 23

Today in class the 8th graders worked in pairs to complete “Scatter Plot Applications”. The IXL for today is A.Q.11 on reading graphs. We will check all graphing calculator work on Thursday so everyone has an opportunity to complete it in class.

Today in class the 6th graders solved equations in “Math 6 Practice #1-28” and IXL 6.E.7 on greatest common factors. Homework is IXL 6.Y.5 on decimal operations.

Monday, Jan. 22

Today in class th e8th graders used the TiNspires to calculate correlation coefficient and linear regression models in , “Math 75”, from Friday.  We also spent time completing last week’s IXL A.U.2 on graphing systems.

Today in class the 6th graders took notes on the Distributive Property. Classwork to be completed at home is called, “Homework 8.1” on solving equations.

Keep working on your data if it has not been submitted yet!

ALL Late work is due Wednesday! The semester ends Friday.

Friday, Jan. 19

Today in class the 8th graders learned how to calculate a correlation coefficient on the graphing calculator.  We began “Math 75”, in class but it is not homework. We will finish it in class Monday because you need the calculators.  Please make sure your data is done by Monday!

Today in class the 6th graders worked with partners to solve and graph equations on a number line. Classwork is called, “Writing and Solving Equations”, and the IXL is 5.V.6.  Please make sure your data is done by Monday!
