Monday, Sept. 18

Today in class, the 8th graders watched short videos and created graphs to match the story in the video. Here is the link if you are interested.   There is no new homework unless you need to complete Friday’s IXL.

 

Today in class the 6th graders checked Friday’s worksheet, “Ratios Independent Practice”. Classwork is to complete, “Games At Recess”, in google classroom. Today’s IXL was started in class, IXL 6. F.3, a review of decimal names from elementary school. Score 95-100%

Maize and Blue Math Circle

As the new school year starts, so begins a new set of sessions for the Maize and Blue Math Circle.
 
We welcome all middle school aged students to join us for a session full of hands on activities to develop their problem solving skills. The circle is very group oriented and helps students learn how to talk about math and work through problem solving together, as well as introducing more advanced concepts in a simpler way.
 
 
When: Tuesdays (beginning 10/03)
Time: 3:30-4:30 pm
Where: Dearborn STEM Middle School, Ms. Bissonette’s Room 189

Friday, Sep. 15

Today in class the 8th graders took notes on relating graphs to real-world events. Homework is to complete IXL A.B.3 and A.B.7.

Today in class the 6th graders worked with a partner to complete “Ratios Independent Practice” worksheet. Homework is to complete IXL 6.R.2 and 6.R.3.

 

Thursday, Sept. 14

Today was the NWEA Reading Test.

There is no homework for any of my classes today!

Today in class the 6th graders began their Rations About Me slideshow presentations. We will wrap these up tomorrow. Please make sure you completed yesterday’s assignment, “Mangos”.

 

Wednesday, Sep 13

Today all students took the NWEA Reading Test.

There is no assignment for 8th grade.

Today in class the 6th graders worked together to discuss and draw models for ratios. The homework is to complete , “Mangos”, in Google Classroom. Students should only have 1-2 questions to complete at home. Please make sure that yesterday’s slide show is completed 🙂

Tuesday, Sept 12

Today in class the 8th graders wrote a CER called, “PokeMath” and analyzed data points in, “Progress Reports”. Both assignments can be finished at home if necessary, depending on how much time it took in class with your partner.

Today in class the 6th graders created a slideshow called, “Ratios About ME”, to present personal information to the class while applying the concept of ratios. You can finish this at home if need be.

Monday, Sept. 11

Today in class the 8th graders wrote an CER, called “Horsegebra”, in class. We also reviewed integer operations in the assignment, “Integer Review Pt. 1”. This needs to be finished at home if it was not finished in class.

Today in class the 6th graders wrote a CER called, “Taco Truck Math”, in class. We also reviewed ratios by watching a short video. Tonight’s IXL is 6.R.1 to 100%. Please have this done by Wednesday if you cannot do it tonight. It should only take 5 minutes!

Wednesday, Sept. 6

Today in class the 8th graders received their Algebra 1 Textbook to KEEP AT HOME or in a locker.

The 6th graders will not receive a textbook because I pull their book assignments from multiple locations.

I will continue to post all assignments in Google Classroom for 6th and 8th grade.

Students worked with a partner and then completed a Partner Evaluation Form in GC. This will help us develop class norms and rules for behavior tomorrow.

No Homework! Finish up those summer IXL.
