Today in class the 8th graders learned about elimination. The homework is called “Elimination Bookwork” in google classroom.

Today in class the 6th graders wrote a CER paragraph to explain which deal is the best for buying carnival tickets. IXL is 6.BB.2 up to 50% tonight.

All students took the STEM Student Survey in math class today! Please make sure all parents complete theirs too! It is on the STEM blog.

Friday, March 17

Today in class the 8th graders worked on exponential decay problems, “Allergy Medication” & “How Old is that Thing” in Google classroom. Homework is “Factoring Polynomials  with GCFs Bookwork” in GC.

Today in class the 6th graders took the common assessment on equations and inequalities. Please complete “Tape Diagrams #3” worksheet and “Sugar Graph Reading” in GC on scrap paper by Monday.

Thursday, March 16

Today in class the 8th graders took their exponent rules assessment. Homework is the worksheet, “Exponential Intercepts”.

Today in class the 6th graders learned to make tape diagrams to solve ratio problems. Classwork is called, “Hippos and Goats” in GC and today’s IXL is 6.BB.3.

Wednesday, March 15

Today in class the 8th graders completed their group assignment on exponential growth. Homework is to complete IXL 8.T.11 to 95%. Exponent Quiz tomorrow!

Today in class the 6th graders revised their assignment from yesterday, Hunger Games or Divergent. In class we completed “Sweet Tea Ratios” and began IXL 6.R.3. Please finish at home if you need. Equations common assessment will be Friday.

Tuesday, March 14

Today in class the 8th graders prepared for Thursday’s quiz on exponent rules. Classwork is called, “Worked Examples” and “Multiplying Cells.” IXL was 8.BB.6 and A.Z.8.

Today in class the 6th graders learned about Pi! Homework is called, “Mangos” in google classroom.

Monday, March 13

Today in class the 8th grade analyzed real world situation for the growth factor. Homework is IXL 8. T.11 to prepare for MSTEP.

Today in class the 6th grade worked in groups to analyze real world situations where ratios are used. Classwork in GC is called, “Hunger Games or Divergent”. Today’s IXL is 6.L.4.

 

Wednesday, March 8

Today in class the 8th graders worked on using the order of operations to evaluate exponential functions on “Practice 8-7”.  Today’s IXL is 8.R.5 to review for MStep.

Today in class the 6th graders took notes about ratios, rates, and types of variables. Homework is IXL 6.R.2 on ratios

Math retakes will be offered for 6th and 8th grade at the following dates/times ONLY:
