Friday, Sept 30

In 8th grade we are creating piecewise functions and writing equations to match the real-world story. They have one IXL to complete at home on continuous functions and some brainstorming for their City planning. There is a quiz Monday on solving multi-step equations, with an IXL posted in GC if you want to study.

In 6th grade we are writing a paragraph about graphing in the coordinate plane. The rubric and assignment are posted in GC. It is due Wednesday.

Thursday, Sept. 29

Today was the last day of NWEA testing!

The 8th graders had two assignments for classwork, called “Si o No?”, and “Slope Bookwork”, in google classroom. Both are due Friday.

The 6th graders did four things at their own pace today and can finish anything they need at home. All are posted in google classroom and due Friday. Those things are:

  1. Bring IXL 6.DD.4 Reflections to 95%
  2. Complete IXL 7.B.1 Integers to 100%
  3. Complete IXL 7.B.5 Integers to 100%
  4. “Area of Borders” Worksheet

Wednesday, Sept 28

Today was the NWEA Science test.

8th graders were assigned two IXL today as classwork and had one worksheet called, “Walk-A-Thons”. They can finish whatever they need at home since everyone works at their own pace.

6th graders did brainstorming for their park design. They need to do IXL 6.DD.4 about reflecting in the coordinate plane to 70%. Your project, “Polygons in the Coordinate Plane” is due tomorrow.

Tuesday, Sept 27

Today in class the 8th graders practiced analyzing graphs for domain and range, using proper notation. Their homework is to finish the IXL 8.Z.8 at home.

Today in class the 6th graders took their first quiz. Make sure yesterday’s assignment is complete (we will check it tomorrow), there is no new homework. Your “Graphing Polygons in the Coordinate Plane” project is due by Thursday.

Progress Reports are being mailed home to those who are missing assignments and Summer IXL.

Monday, Sept. 26

Today in class the 8th graders learned about Interval Notation for domain and range of functions. Their homework is called “Function Testing” in GC.

Today in class the 6th graders worked on graphing in the coordinate plane. This assignment is NOT homework. You have a quiz tomorrow on Integers and Area. Look at your planner for the list of topics. If you feel you need to “study”, you should review those concepts in IXL. There is a piece of text to study in GC if you wish.  Homework is to finish Area of Composite Figures in GC (It is only 4 problems).

Friday, Sept. 23

Today in class the 8th graders were determining if a relation is a function. Their classwork is in GC, “Rational Numbers Bookwork”, which is a review of types of numbers. Some students finished it in class, others need to finish this at home.

Today in class the 6th graders worked on calculating the area of irregular composite figures made of rectangles and triangles. Homework is to finish “Area Problem Solving 4/5” in GC

Thursday, Sept. 22

Today we took the NWEA Reading test.

8th graders had classwork on IXL and “Events Bookwork”. Most students completed this already.

6th graders did IXL: Inequalities and “Lesson 3” worksheet on Area of a triangles with a partner. If you did not finish something at school, please finish it at home.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

Today in class the 8th graders compared Relations with Functions. Your homework is to finish #1-14 on “Between the Lines.”

Today on class the 6th graders decomposed irregular polygons into smaller parts to calculate area. Your homework is the “Geometry:Area” front ONLY if you did not finish it at school.

Monday, Sept. 19

Today in class, the 8th graders finished up our unit on reading and interpreting graphs that tell a story. Tonight’s homework worksheet is to make up your own stories to match distance-time graphs.

Today in class the 6th graders did our first assignment out of the textbook. It should be completed at home, it is in google classroom entitled, Integers Bookwork. They also need to complete IXL 6.X.5 to near 100%.
