- independence: when a country is free from colonization
- alliances: a group of countries that are friendly with each other.
- unite: to bring together

- rebellion: to go against the government
- tension: bad feelings; problems
- Emperor: the ruler of an empire
- wounded: hurt
- Rebel: a person who goes against the government.
- blame: put responsibility on someone
- chain reaction: events that are linked to each other
- assassinate: to kill a president or government worker
