  1. exponents – how many times to use that number in a multiplication. It is written as a small number to the right and above the base number. Ex. 82 = 8 × 8 = 64. Ex. 24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 16
  2. multiply – The operation of repeated addition of the same number. Ex. 5 x 3 = 5 + 5 + 5
  3. factors – The whole numbers that are multiplied to get a product. Ex. 6 x 2 = 12 → 6 and 2 are factors, 12 is the product.
  4.  estimation – A number close to an exact amount. An estimate tells about how much or about how many. 
  5. product – The answer to a multiplication problem. Ex. 6 x 2 = 12 → 6 and 2 are factors, 12 is the product.
