Good Morning!
Assignments are up on Google Classroom and we are ready to start our week. My goal is to keep our schedule and assignments consistent week to week so students can plan and know what to expect. One of the Spelling & Word Work activities have been removed and the slideshow is a little different this week due to the contractions spelling rule. Please look at those directions carefully!
Please keep up on work throughout the week so assignments do not pile up. I have staggered due dates throughout the week to help with completing a few things each day.
Materials pick up!
To make the Eureka Math a little easier, materials are available for pick up. This includes Math books, whiteboards, dry erase markers, and paper. Distribution: Tuesday, May 5th 12:00-3:00 pm at Whimore-Bolles. (This does NOT include personal belongings, stay tuned for a later date)
Our Schedule this week:
Class Meetings: Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 am in Big Blue Button. Students log into iLearn.
Math: Continuing with Eureka Math curriculum in addition to Zearn. Lessons 5 – 8 Monday thru Thursday with an Exit Ticket on Friday. 3 Zearn lessons or complete through lesson 24.
Exit tickets are expected to be done independently without parent help so I know what students have learned and who I need to work with to provide extra math support.
Writing: Response to prompt due Wednesday.
Reading: Check schedule for day and time of Reading Group Meeting. Please arrive on time ready to discuss last week’s assignment. Reading Letter due Wednesday. 2 Readworks + 1 Newsela article due Friday. Students should be reading 30 minutes or more everyday.
Spelling & Word Work: 2 activities due Thursday. Note: Slideshow is slightly different this week due to our contraction rule – please read the directions carefully before getting started.
Science: Mrs. Fleming STEAM due Monday. Mystery 3 assessment due Tuesday. Mystery 4 activity + experiment due Thursday.
Social Studies: BrainPop, video book + activity due Wednesday.
Specials Teachers: Monday: STEAM, Tuesday: Music & PE, Wednesday: Art, Thursday: Music, Friday: PE.
Open Office hours: Please check the schedule for drop in times. I will meet students in Big Blue Button for help on assignments. This does not need to be planned or scheduled, just drop in!
If students would like additional help we can schedule time during one of the Individual Students Meeting times on the schedule.
Kahoot!: Tuesday and Thursday – both close at 3:00pm.
Weekly Self-Check: This will post Friday. This is a chance for you and your 4th grader to review the week, see what needs to be worked on, and ask me for help if needed. Please complete by Sunday.
