Good Morning!
We are ready to start a new week. Assignments are up on Google Classroom and our schedule is set.
A couple of changes this week:
Class Meetings
Class Meetings will no longer be held through Google Meets. We will now be using a platform called Big Blue Button. I have replaced all of the directions and links in Google Classroom to direct students to Class Meetings and Reading Group Meetings in Big Blue Button. Please have your 4th grader try this out before a their next scheduled meeting to allow time for any troubleshooting.
Math
This week we will be returning to using our Eureka Math curriculum in addition to Zearn. I will be posting lessons 4 days a week, Monday thru Thursday. This will include recorded lessons taught by 4th grade Eureka Math teachers and Problem Set guidance from me. Students will be assigned problems to complete on paper. Students will take a picture of their work and submit it in the assignment.
On Fridays I will post an Exit ticket similar to what students are used to in class. Exit tickets are expected to be done independently without parent help so I know what students have learned and who I need to work with to provide extra math support.
Our Schedule this week:
Math: 4 Eureka Lessons and Problem Sets, one a day Monday – Thursday, Exit Ticket on Friday. 3 Zearn lessons or complete through lesson 21.
Writing: Response to prompt due Wednesday.
Reading: Check schedule for day and time of Reading Group Meeting. Please arrive on time ready to discuss last week’s assignment. Reading Letter due Wednesday. 2 Readworks + 1 Newsela article due Friday. Students should be reading 30 minutes or more everyday.
Spelling & Word Work: 3 activities due Thursday.
Science: Mrs. Fleming STEAM due Monday. Mystery 2 assessment due Tuesday. Mystery 3 activity + experiment due Thursday.
Social Studies: Reading + activity due Wednesday.
Specials Teachers: Monday: STEAM, Tuesday: Music & PE, Wednesday: Art, Thursday: Music, Friday: PE.
Class Meetings: Tuesday & Friday @ 11:00am. Follow directions to Big Blue Button in Google Classroom.
Open Office hours: Please check the schedule for drop in times. I will meet students in Big Blue Button for help on assignments. This does not need to be planned or scheduled, just drop in!
If students would like additional help we can schedule time during one of the Individual Students Meeting times on the schedule.
Kahoot!: Tuesday and Thursday – both close at 2:00pm.
Weekly Self-Check: Due Friday. This is a chance for you and your 4th grader to review the week, see what needs to be worked on, and ask me for help if needed.
