Class will begin the study of the Era of Good Feelings
with focus on the development of growing sectionalism,
revolutions in Latin America, and the reasons behind
The Monroe Doctrine. (Ch.10, sections 3 & 4)
Wk. of 12/17-12/21, 2018
We will begin the study of The Industrial Revolution, Ch. 11
by discussing how it began and the impact on production, tariffs,
and urbanization during the early to mid 1800s.
Week of Dec. 10-14, 2018
Students will cover section 5, Chapter 10
We will focus on The War of 1812 and look at the
major battles and people of the conflict.
Wk. of Dec. 3-7, 2018
Chapter 10, sec. 3
Students will continue the study of the presidency of Jefferson
by watching a video of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and discussion
of how the practice of impressment led to the Embargo Act of 1807.
week of 11/12-11/16/’18
Students will continue with Chapter 9 by focusing on the
election of John Adams, the XYZ Affair, and the Alien and
Sedition Acts. Quiz will be on Wednesday this week.
Week of 11/5-11/9-2018
With the beginning of the new card-marking, we will continue the study of Washington’s
administration focusing on the Cabinet, French Revolution, and American neutrality.
Sections 1 & 2, chapter 9.
Week of 10/15-10/19/’18
We will be studying the Goals and Principles of the U.S. Constitution.
Students will also learn of the responsibilities and requirements for
the three branches of the government as stated in the Articles.
Week of 10/8-10/12, 2018
Students will begin the study of the 1787 Constitutional Convention.
Chapter 7, section 2.
Week of 10/1-10/5, 2018
Text books will be assigned early in the week, perhaps Monday.
Students will begin the study of the United States under the
Articles of Confederation and the reasons for a new constitution.

Week of Sept. 24-28, 2018
We will begin the week with a discussion of the reasons for and the
parts of the Declaration of Independence. For the rest of the week,
we will focus on the ‘highlights’ of the American Revolution.
