We will be studying this material dealing with the “Era of good feelings”, the administration of John Quincy Adams, and the beginnings of the “Spoils system of government”. The next quiz will be Friday, Jan. 31st.

Students will finish the study of the War of 1812 and begin discussions on the
American sense of self-reliance and the beginnings of the early Industrial Revolution.
Classes will take a quiz on Wednesday, Dec. 18 covering: Major battles of the War of 1812, main characters, opposition to the war, the Treaty of Ghent, and section (1) of Chapter11. An extra credit worksheet will be offered for students to complete during the winter recess.

Students will continue the study of Jefferson’s administration with focus on events of his second term. Topics to cover are: Th Embargo Act, impressment, the election of 1808, the Indian Confederation, and the Warhawks. Sections 3 &4 chapter 10.

Students will begin the study of Washington’s administration focusing on the Presidential Cabinet, the Judiciary Act, and the role of the federal government during the Whiskey Rebellion.

Students will finish their study of the Bill of Rights by creating a booklet
of the first 10 amendments. Booklet will be a summative grade replacing a quiz
and based on accuracy, effort, and neatness.

Students will begin the study of the Bill of Rights. Week’s lesson will
culminate in students’ creation of a booklet showing the 1st. ten amendments.
Booklet will be counted as a summative assignment and replace a quiz.
