Thank you to all the parents and family members who made it to our first ever Kindergarten Thankful Breakfast! It was so nice to see everyone and share this experience with you. I know all of my students were super happy and that momentum carried throughout the day. Here are some pictures parents and staff have shared with me from this morning. Enjoy! Have a wonderful break and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Battle Against Hunger Update
After tallying up the total for the canned food drive we came out to 818 cans!!!! The winning grade is 2nd grade! They will receive a pizza party! They brought in 355 cans as a grade! Great job Snow Staff, Students, and Families! This was a really great cause and I’m glad we did so well!
Winter is here…
Winter is here. Whether we like it or not!
We will be going outside for recess unless it is below 20* or rainy/too wet. Please be sure to dress your child for outside play! Winter coats, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves and boots will keep them toasty warm.
Here are some things to know:
- Bring school shoes! Boots are wonderful for outside play but can be uncomfortable all day. Please send school shoes for your child to change into. They are welcome to leave the shoes here. We have a designated spot for each child to keep their boots/shoes when they are not wearing them.
- Please practice dressing and undressing with the winter gear. We spend a lot of time zipping, tying and helping with coats and boots. Please work on independently getting ready for outside. The less time we spend getting ready, the more time we have to play.
- A lot of kids have already lost a hat or gloves. I ask that they practice putting their hats, gloves/mittens and scarves in the sleeve of their coat when they take it off. That way everything is together. Also, Dollar tree has hats and gloves for, you guessed it, a dollar. They are GREAT for Kinders who lose everything. We try to keep track of it all but accidents happen. The lost and found is currently on the table outside of the office. It is overflowing. Check it out f you are missing something.
Thanks and stay warm!
Penny War Results are in!
Thankful Family Breakfast RSVPs and money due today!
The RSVPs and the money were due today. We need an accurate count of how many family members are coming to our breakfast so we can purchase enough food. Right now, less than half of our class has turned in the RSVP forms and the money. If you have not, please do so at pick up today. If you are unable to attend, please let us know so we can arrange for a staff member to sit with your child at breakfast. We don’t want any one to sit by themselves! Thank you!!
Please click on the link for the original RSVP note.
Thank you!
ONE MORE DAY LEFT
Thankful Breakfast
Hello families!
As you may know, kindergartners have been learning about being responsible and proactive. We have discussed completing tasks before someone tells us to at home and school. I recently sent home a chore chart that encouraged families to help their children complete chores around the house so that they may earn $5.00 to help put together a Thankful Family Breakfast for you! The breakfast will be on November 20, at 8:45 in the lunch room. We are asking that students complete chores and bring in the money by next Monday, November 19. We really want them to earn the money! Please use the chore chart to keep track. I can’t wait to hear all of the wonderful ways they were able to help out!
All best,
Ms. Barakat
