Math: learn about measurement.  We can describe the length of an object.

Reading: identify the main idea of the Gingerbread Man story

Social Studies: learn about trading. We will trade beads to make a necklace that we want.

Science: learn about the sun

Writing: write facts about the sun, shadow, and the moon

This week we will …..

Reading:  Ask and answer questions to make predictions and connections about the story Bear Snores On

Social Studies:  focus on our role as a consumer buying goods and services

Writing:  write our opinion about certain services such as nursing, teaching, etc.

Math: finish our unit on 2d and 3d shapes and begin our unit on measurement

Science: focus on the role of the sun and shadows

Math: finding and describing flat shapes: triangles, squares, rectangles, circles

Science:  The sun warms are planet.

WOW!  It is October.  We all seem to be adjusting to school:)  We will continue to grow and learn in our classroom.  We will be learning about the following concepts:

We will focus on the following concepts this week.

Reading: Ask and answer questions about key details in a story.  I can ask a partner where the story Chrysanthemum takes place?

Math: Counting and Cardinality.  I can answer the question: What was the last number said?

Social Studies/Writing: Getting along with one another.  Sharing stories.  I can share a story about a time that I was helpful.

Science: Forces and Motion.  I can investigate the force of magnets.  I can recognize the force of a magnet as a pull.
