| Welcome back to our Art Class! My name is Mrs. Atkinson. Our classes meet every day for 55 minutes. The art experiences, knowledge and skills will be integrated with academic subjects. Academic Art grades are based on: Work Effort ……..follows directions, involvement, engagement Craftsmanship……..neatness, skill applications, care of tools and materials Participation….. following procedures, rules, activities and collaboration Creativity………using the imagination and critical thinking when creating I will encourage collaborative and integrated learning through the arts. The arts enhance cognitive skills and promote learning skills. If you have any “fun” items the students would enjoy creating into masterpieces we would appreciate your donations such as: Colored pencils, markers, magazines, oil pastels, chalk pastels, glue, paints, or anything art related! I’m am extremely excited to see all your familiar faces and to welcome the upcoming 6th grade class!
