Online Learning Assignments

Week 1

Math

embarc.online is a great site for students to watch a video of every lesson below and check HW answers. Start at Grade 4 Module 5.

Zearn – https://www.zearn.org/  Online lessons aligned to Eureka Math/ Succeed Practice books.  Students have a username/password. 

Language Arts

  • 30 minutes of reading daily!  This may include time spent doing any of the following or spent reading ANY books of the student’s choice.
  • Keep a daily journal of your time off.  Write about the books you read, what you are doing.  You can write stories.  Anything!  Just keep writing!
  • Readworks–  Provides K-12 teachers with a large, high-quality library of curated nonfiction and literary articles, along with reading comprehension and vocabulary supports, formative assessments, teacher guidance, and more.  Must have an account, but they are free.
    • These are the texts that students have been assigned to read on Google Classroom found in Mrs. Ankouny’s Reading Folder:

  • MI Open Book – United States Studies (Teacher Correlation Guide available in MyPD Remote Learning course)
    • How Does the United States Government Work for You? Chapter 3- Read sections 1 and 2 pgs. 94-105
    • Complete these questions in Google Classroom-Writing Folder or write on paper and take a photo via Class Dojo

Section 1:

Think about the story you just read and answer the questions below.

  1. Do they need a government? Why or why not?
  2. Do you think they will choose a king for their new country? Why or why not?
  3. What will they want the government to do?
  4. What will they want to make sure the government does not do?

Section 2:

Is the Republic of Berwagana really a republic? Why or why not? Write a paragraph taking a position on this question. Give three reasons to support your position.
