MobyMax: Our Democracy-Citizens’ Rights and Responsibilities

Remote Learning for the Week of April 27, 2020

ELA

MobyMax lessons are completed in sequence so students need to take their time and read all the passages carefully and answer ALL the questions.  If you are not happy with a score, please let me know and I can reassign the assignment.  Students should at least be getting a 70% or better on all the assignments.  Also if you see an assignment on your assignment tab in Moby Max that you have not started you must complete it. The next ELA assignment will be (Determine the Main idea in Paragraphs) and Writing (Prewriting- Learn how to write a thesis statement).

Social Studies

The only topic students should be completing in MobyMax is Our Democracy. If there is an assignment for Geography, do not complete it.  I will be reassigning the assignment from last week because most students did not answer all the parts and received a low grade. If you did it once and see it again in your assignment tab, please do it again.  The social studies assignment for this week is (Introduction of the United States Government and The Founding of Our Government).

Math

Students only complete these Eureka Math Lessons. This week lessons 10, 11 and 12 are assigned. Click the link to watch the video and then complete practice problems from the resources section.

You will have questions to answer at the end of the week for the first two lesson videos.

Assignments Due on Friday, April 24th

Dear Parents,

I will be posting 2 additional assignments, (a main idea and social studies worksheet) on the Moby Max Tasks page.

The main idea worksheet will go with a scholastic news article and the social studies worksheet will be based on what they learned from the government lesson on Moby Max.

They will be graded. Like I stated before, there will be report cards so it is very important students are doing the work every week.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a class dojo message or an email at alsaidn@dearbornschools.org.

Thank you,

Ms. Alsaidi
