Students are encouraged to go on the M-Step practice site over break. We did some practice this past week, however, we did not get through all of it. Here is the link:

Spirit Week Starts Tomorrow!

Meeting for 5th grade Honors Ceremony (Last Day of School Assembly)

A message from Mrs. Bronson regarding end of the year Honors Ceremony:

Morning Line-Up at the 5th Grade Door

Mr. Blessing has shared that there are many concerns regarding student behavior in the morning before the bell rings. Because of this, we will be tightening up procedures to alleviate potential problems.

Students are expected to:

• line-up based on their teacher
• have appropriate level voices (outside voices acceptable, but no screaming)
• have appropriate interactions with classmates (hands and feet to themselves)
• no ball playing (This has been a Howard School expectation for many years.)

Math Test Monday

ACK! I forgot to post to parents that we have our Unit 8 math test on Monday. The students and I have been reviewing in class since this past Tuesday. Please make sure they review, also, at home this weekend:

• adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing fractions
  • number sentences
  • story problems
  • open response (how to solve any of those types of problems)
  • solve using a pictoral representation only

Social Studies Text Online

Here is a link to an online Social Studies book. It isn’t the one we use in class (from the copied packets provided), however it is U.S. History and follows the same information. Students should read this also to help with their understanding of events we are studying:

Camp

Camp dates will be May 22-24, 2018 (the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday before Memorial Weekend).

Please plan to attend our camp meeting on March 19, 2018 at 6:00.  We will discuss a typical day for your camper while at camp sharing the activities they will participate in, as well as menus, packing tips, and expectations of your camper.

A camp representative and the teachers will  be available to answer your questions.

Music Concert Reminder

REMINDER

The 4^th & 5^th Grade Vocal Music Concert is on February 13 (Tuesday)  at 7:00 P.M. in the Howard School Gym.

Students should report to their classrooms by 6:45 p.m.

All 4^th & 5^th  graders are participating.
