Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is doing well … as well as can be expected, right? Try to keep perspective: We are not “stuck” at home; we are safe at home. I, too, am struggling with perspective. I am still trying to find the balance between the district expectations for us and what is achievable for you, my 5th graders, with very little parent assistance. I am sorry for being stern with my comments about the work. My intention was not to provoke “fear” but rather for some of you to take it more seriously. Many of you have been taking it seriously, and I greatly appreciate those of you who have been working hard at home. There are several of you though that still aren’t doing any or much of the work. PLEASE make better choices and do the work. Please know that I care deeply for your overall well-being and safety.

  • Math: Module 6 review for your Topic D quiz tomorrow. It will be posted in Edulastic and focus on the main learning from lessons 18-20. HOWEVER, there wasn’t a Topic C quiz, and Topic C focused on lessons 13-17, so it might be worth it to review from 13-20. Keep in mind though, as I typically point out in class, that the lessons build on each other. So the material from lesson 13 is still there in lesson 18-20, but being used on the stronger level. Anyway – try to review from 13-20. 😉
  • Science: (1) set up your Science Journal with the title “Earth’s Atmosphere” (2) Watch these two videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0AOg_fPkog and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbwEF6xvlVg (3) pause and take notes for BOTH videos
  • Reading: 180 Days Week 27 Day 3 – follow the directions in GC
  • 180 Days of Language Day 15 – follow the directions in GC
  • MathWarmUp #88 VIDEO corrections are posted in GC. Please go through your blue folder page and make notes and corrections, as we would in class. (Please forgive the videography mistakes – I struggled with holding the camera with my left hand and writing with my right.)
