Answer: Straw man

Straw man is a poor or oversimplified example in order to refute or ridicule an idea.

You will also have poorly written claims and you have to write better claims. I will provide examples tomorrow in class.

You do have to know the definitions, but also make sure you read the chapter for examples. Have a deep understanding of the terms.
